Anyone experiencing a lot of new lag on their island?

I’m not really seeing lag, per se, but as others have stated the item pop-in is pretty terrible now. I never noticed my island doing that until yesterday.

I always experience lag whenever there's an event at the plaza, or even on ordinary days when majority of my villagers are outside.

My island is not even heavily decorated. I guess my game just doesn't like it when there are too many villagers + NPCs walking about. But I do know it's not as laggy before 2.0.

I notice a lot more lag starting up my game as well as checking my mailbox. I swear checking my mail takes five minutes just to load.

Ohh I agree. Its PERFECTLY fine when I have an internet connections but when I dont it just says please wait for like 5 minutes.... Sometimes even when I do have connection? Maybe is because I have a hoard of like 299 letters..

I haven't noticed extra lag but I have noticed that it's taking a lot longer to save when I shut down. I blame the zillions of flowers.

I've had lots of lag since the update. I never used to have any. Now, any time I run, it lags. I don't get to play much anymore though, so I suppose I'm not impacted by it too much.

As others mentioned, lag seems to occur when there are a lot of moving objects, villagers, or events going on, even if an island isn’t maxcore decorated.

My issue is that this should have been a priority fix for awhile now, and I was surprised it wasn’t fixed in 2.0, when even more lag-causing content was added. This is a bestseller Switch game, not a port that might understandably have issues given the Switch’s limitations. Players should not have to handicap their experience by decorating as minimally as possible. That just doesn’t feel right.
