Guest, you're invited to help build our new TBT time capsule! It contains three parts, with some of its elements planned to open in 2029 and others not until the distant future of 2034. Get started in 2024 Community Time Capsule: Blueprints.
This doesn't bother me all that much. If I play New Horizons in a similar fashion to the way I've played New Leaf over the years, more often than not I'll have the sound off and listening to something else entirely, like music or a YouTube video, unless I need to turn the sound on for a K.K. performance or to help with fishing or something. That said, it's unfortunate that they changed it, as the old style did sound better.
Then again, if it was still around and available as an option, I'd probably just select Bebebese since I enjoyed its presence in the GameCube game and it makes me reminisce about even older video games from my childhood years.
Maybe it's just me then. But I still can't believe most don't hear a difference! It's like Nook's tone keeps going up at the end of every sentence. It just sounds jarring to me and not like NL at all, but hopefully I'll get used to it.
I definitely hear a difference, OP!
It sounds softer to me, but that doesn't bother me too much. I'll be interested in hearing what the other variants of it sound like.
