Anyone successfully island hopped for Raymond?

I'm sort of becoming resigned to the fact that I can't possibly hope to make a trade for Raymond online given how many tickets/bells he seems to be going for, so I'm thinking of trying my luck on the mystery islands. To those of you who've done the same, I was curious about how many trips (approximately) it took until you finally encountered him? The odds certainly seem extremely low, but they're probably no lower than my chances of being able to buy him from someone who has him!

Yes, I think a couple of people onsite have done it successfully. For one person it took hundreds of trips and the other >10 iirc.

I've hopped about 350-400 islands with no luck, but some people are luckier then others lol

I haven't found him yet, but I have a list of dreamies I'm hoping to find eventually. That makes it a bit easier to find at least one.

I spent around 350-400 tickets to find all my dreamies and he was the last one that shown haha... I think I found all the other within 150 tickets though.

Honestly, I was able to get him at about 40 tickets in. I wasn’t grinding tickets specifically for him, just trying to get my dreamies, and I finally found him.

I have all ten of my dreamies at the moment and only had to buy one off of someone. The rest I found on islands in a total of maybe 250 tickets.

Just to add in my experience with the mystery island tour, I've used about 200-ish tickets total and have not seen him. I don't actually want him, but I would grab him if I saw him just to sell.

I’m about to start the hunt for Raymond, Kid Cat, or any of the new villagers. Whoever comes first.

I’m sure I will find someone else I really like and cave and invite them instead.

It's possible! It did take a long time and was like finding a needle in a haystack though. I'd say it took me about 200-250 trips in a row to find him when I was specifically hunting for him. It's all RNG though.

It is.... I haven't done it yet, but I found Audie when I wasn't looking. It's just getting lucky for that certain one. I've also seen Octavian 7 times in one night. It's just a lengthy process for some.

I found him relatively early and grabbed him. I didn't really want him for keeps, so it's interesting that I did find him lol. I've been having decent luck overall, but I've also been to a metric ****ton of mystery islands lol.

I'm up to 150 nook miles tickets spent on trying to find this cat.

I think I already used up my luck encountering Audie, Sherb, Dom, Cyd, Whitney, and Chief. Can't forget encountering Marina twice in a row. Rip.

Raymond lives on my island. He moved in after I let Bob move out. I was like, NO! Not ANOTHER cat!! I can't stand cats, I'm a dog person. Then I find out how popular he is, so I decided to give him a chance, and even though he's a cat, he's kind of grown on me, so I think I'll keep him around for a while.
