Soo,

Me and my friend spent like 6 hours trying to catch this Alpha snorlax when I was over at her place yesterday,

Well we never caught it. We tried hypnosis, paralizing it, poisoning it

We even leveled up, or went hunting for a Pokemon type that was better. We trained up three Machoke, because it said fighting was the best type to go against one, and then also had a Steelix, because it said a Steel Pokemon was strong against it too. We had an alpha Toxicroak, and alpha Lopbunny , because Lopbunny knew some fighting moves.

We tried to work around what moves it had, but nope. We could take it down, but we couldnt catch it. Well its now our mission to catch this thing. Any advice on catching a snorlax?

Im no Pokemon master, so I thought id ask people who know more about the art of catching this sleepy boi

I'd recommend a bulky Ghost like Dusknoir. For Alpha Snorlax, I recommend levelling up to level 70-100. Carry lots of Hyper/Max Potions and obviously lots of Heavy Balls

all i can say is that i didn't even fight it. my tactic for a lot of alpha pokemon was just to have the ultra ball ready in my hotbar, crouch and get as close as i could without it seeing me, throw the pokeball at it, and then quickly run away to a safe distance or hide behind something. then rinse and repeat until it stayed in the ball. that's how i got my multiple alpha snorlaxes and a lot of other alpha pokemon.

My main technique I used for a lot of the game for catching alpha Pokemon was throwing an Oran berry, waiting for them to eat it so catch rate goes up, then sneaking up real close with a Heavy/Leaden/Gigaton ball. I also used a Smoke bomb for Snorlax since there isn't a lot of cover. Late game I think most people just use Jet balls. They work well for repeated attempts but eat up resources if you lack the cash.

You can't catch Alpha Pokemon if your Pokemon's level is too low. Its the game's way of preventing you from getting strong fast early on. Lessen the level gap between you and the Pokemon in your party to increase your chances.

Huh, that could be why. Maybe 5hat Snorlax is higher then 40? Or so fourth lol

Yeah, thats how we got Rapidash, and Toxicroak. We did try with Snorlax, but it would be worth a few more of throwing the balls

I struggled even at and above Snorlax's level. I think your best bet is to make the heaviest ball you can and try to catch it from behind while it's eating a lure or a berry. The lure really helps, I found! It increases the Pokemon's catchability. I think I tossed 50-ish Oran Berries before I caught my first Snorlax. I also toss a smoke ball so I can hide in the smoke and creep up behind while it's eating and still remain hidden if the pokeball fails.

my fool proof method of catching alphas has been to use a smoke bomb, then sneak up behind it and use a heavy ball to catch it (the highest level you have unlocked). literally works every time since you are catching the pokemon "unaware" and you don't even have to battle it

I added a fighting type to my team (lucario) for super effective moves against snorlax, and i used the high end heavy ball i think (gigamax or whateves it is called hehe). also, my team is levelled up p high so that prolly helps.

I'd not worry too much to catch everything you see the firt time you encounter it. I struggled to catch alphas with red health and paralysis/poison/status condition in the first zone... now with 9 and 10 star rank you can catch them with a regular jet ball 'v'
