I think they're mentioned in the Iwata Asks for LGTTC as being designs made by competitions? It's not specific about them, but given there's nothing they're obviously based off of (like the Meowlingual and Bowlingual for Meow and Bow, and the Nintendo Dream mascot for Nindori)... but at the same time, it could be Shinabiru as it was a Famitsu bonus.

Apparently Pierre came with the official e-card file, and Shoukichi came with the Takara figures like Meow and Bow did.

Hmm, I guess it seems unlikely to bring them back if they're from a competition. I would like Pierre though, so there's an option to have both him and Pietro and horrify people with a Clown Town.

Well, we know all current 383 villagers from New Leaf are returning, and we've seen new ones. Hard to say if previous ones are also returning. We'll just have to see.

Personally, I hope so... I want Tarou, since he was JPN GC exclusive. Lazy wolf villager.

Tarou the wolf is a villager I'm hoping is in the new game. I've been wanting him in one of my towns for forever so I'm waiting out ot see if we have any hopes of some old school villagers returning.

But honestly, I think we'll get enough old villagers that when combined with the new ones they can make a Series 5 Amiibo Card pack.

I was thinking that too. We probably won't be getting as many new villagers as we got in New Leaf (WW and CF introduced 18 new villagers each) so if they want to sell another Amiibo card series they'll probably want to bring back some more old villagers.

Rght now we have something like 74 villagers that have yet to return, the closer we get to 0 the more likely it is that there might be things holding them back.

There's one villager in particular that I like but I'm not sure if they can return. They're called Leigh: https://animalcrossing.fandom.com/wiki/Leigh

The reason being that they seem to have a Native American motif...and I'm not sure whether or not that would be considered in bad taste nowadays. I think they could get away with changing her design a little though....like change the style of the headband. (maybe give it a knot at the back to make it look more like a ninja headband)

If that fails can we at least get a new chicken villager called Leigh? That pun is too good to miss out on.

My number one hope is Aziz though. I had him in my original Gamecube village and he was one of my "besties" along with Boris and Axel.
