Are left joy cons usually hard to get; or did Nintendo stop making them?

I’m asking this question because I’ve been trying to replace the blue left joycon for my niece’s switch. It fell and stopped working.

When looking at stores like Amazon or Target, it would either show out of stock or cost $50 for just one joycon. This is ridiculous when Nintendo had it listed at $39.99 on their website. When I tried ordering from Nintendo, I just got an error message.

Finally, I managed to place an order on Best Buy. However it’s been stuck at “reserving item” for a week now. I’m afraid that they might cancel my order.

They've not stopped making them. That would be outrageous for a current system.

I've not tried buying them individually but I've found previously they can often be a bit hard to come by in general, especially when you have your heart set on a specific pair. They're also ridiculously priced anyway no thanks to some of the useless tech in them that barely anything takes advantage of, plus the usual markup Nintendo does on its accessories.
