Are Mario Galaxy and 128 the Same Game?

I am prety sure they are. If so they should be somewhat far in developing.

I'm fairly certain Mario 128 has never existed as a game. Looking at past Miyamoto interviews, Mario 128 was the name given to a large number of innovative concepts Miyamoto always wanted to put into a Mario game. Therefore, I think Galaxy is just a lot of those concepts. So, in short, I think Galaxy has a part of Mario 128 in it.
