I'm hearing today that Nintendo announced they are stopping the bundle this fall.
I wonder if they are going to do a bundle with an older game for the holidays so people will have to spend $80 for mariokart world if they want it after reviews come out.

Or it's not going to meet expectations and they want to limit the number of people selling the codes for profit nah.

Seems a strange decision though, could just be about maximising profits around the Christmas time

After weeks-long consideration of who my first Mario Kart World main character will be, I’ve come to a decision!

My mains on MK8 were Toad, Waliugi, and Wiggler, but I knew I should try one of the new characters in the upcoming game.

Spoiler: Without further ado, I present:

I’m disappointed Lemmy isn’t in, I won’t lie. I’m hoping he will at least be playable as DLC in the near future. It looks like I’ll be using Bowser Jr. for the time being.

My mains in 8 are Male Villager, Toadette and Pauline. While two have made it in, Male Villager has not. But I understand why, as Nintendo clearly wants to make sure that the Mario Cast is prioritized first on release date before any other Nintendo franchises can come in and maybe take over. I know free updates will be in so this’ll be the guest character’s only chance at being in World.

So my new mains will now be Toadette, Pauline, Dolphin, Conkdor and mayybe Cow. But I will try other new characters to be sure if I’ll like them or not.

I've seen footage of a battle mode with the balloons. Have they mentioned dedicated battle mode tracks? I recall that not being included in a previous title.

Why does everyone choose Morton in mario kart 8? Whenever I see a Japanese player join as Morton I know I'm screwed straight away. They speed off bouncing around and it's literally impossible to catch up. Either they're cheating or morton has some sort of advantage

I stopped paying attention to meta builds in Deluxe but I know he was considered one of the best characters competitively in 8 on Wii U. Not sure if it still applies as stats got tweaked for deluxe.

Given mario kart 8 deluxe has many past game courses and is on switch 1 I'm guessing MKW won't feature booster packs in this way? Eg if it's already on Mk8d what's the point of adding it to MKW?
I don't own MK8 on switch only Wii U so would be interesting to see what and how they make extra packs available

I wanted to main Lemmy so bad in Mario Kart 8, but I couldn’t keep up with some racers. That’s why I started using King Boo for racing.

I gave up thinking I stood a chance with a lightweight. I prefer battle mode over racing anyway. I hope we get a decent one in Mario Kart World.

Edit: I’m editing to say that I’m pretty sure Cow is going to be the buffed character, like Funky Kong in Mario Kart Wii. That would be fun!

My wallet is screaming in pain due to the price.

But this game makes me want to see a "Slice of Life in the Mushroom Kingdom" kind of thing, a look into the places you drive through, see what goes on in the businesses you see advertisements for, stuff like that.

I can’t believe the day is almost here! I won’t be getting my game and console at midnight launch (I could as the store I preordered at will be open for it but I live a decent drive away and need the sleep). I look forward to picking it up on Thursday later on in the Morning though!

To be fair, the producer said there is no 200cc right now in the game, and he cannot comment on their plans for future content.

Let's also highlight the fact 200cc wasn't in Mario Kart 8 when it first launched on Wii U.

The drifting and cornering in this game feels so different , almost unresponsive compared to my intense playing of the Wii U one lately.
I guess I'll get used to it, but I don't know if my fingers will, holding the A button down is really aching me oof

The NPCs are definitely more challenging on 150CC this time around, and the drifting is completely different, but I’m sure I’ll get used to both eventually! Right now I’m just going through all the characters trying to get all the outfits while trying to get 3 stars on all Grand Prix and Knockout courses. It’s been fun so far!

I think it's because the tyres are chunkier and the car isn't fully on the ground. I keep getting the feeling the turning is just right on the drift then suddenly it feels I'm over steering and coming in too tight....
