hiii everyone!
so, i have been seeing a lot of people planning for their island lately. whether it's for how their character looks, their island map, etc.
i was wondering, are you planning for your island?

the only thing i have planned is my character name and island name. (i made a character for fun though on this fan-made character thing. she look's really cute, and i might use her.)

i don't think i will plan anything else. i feel like just going with the flow of things, and think of stuff as i play.

can't wait to read your thoughts! <3

I came up with my island name, my character's name, and I prepped a journal. But I haven't planned anything else beyond that. I don't know what I'll do with my tent/house or where I'll put it, where I'll want to put villager houses, how I want to design the island... None of that. I feel it's easier in video games to see what all of my customization options are first, then design, rather than getting excited about some specific design and getting frustrated that I can't do something in particular. It has definitely happened to me in the past.

I have a couple things planned, mentally though. I haven’t wrote anything down or drawn a layout or anything :)

So far I've picked a character name, island name, town fruit, and list of preferred villagers as well as drawn a rough idea of how I want my island to look. Does that mean I'll stick with all those things? I mean, we'll see. I'm definitely keeping the island name and fruit, but I'm certainly not married to the map! I don't even know what the limitations are going to be. I mostly did it for fun.

Character name, Island name, and a very rough layout (just decided which coasts I want the river to empty into), but tbh for the layout, I don't care as much as we can change it later on and I'm not that picky about it usually.

Also have made spreadsheets...
and calculated my chances at not having to reset the island (trying for certain native fruits, avoiding starting villagers I hate...)

I'm thinking of vague ideas for it, but nothing more for now. I do have a sketch of what I hope my island will look like in a few month's time. Really just depends on terraforming's limitations.

I had intended to do so, but with the release approaching so rapidly, I haven't even really started. The only things I'm basically set on are which villagers I want to live on the island, but that's subject to change because there might be new ones I feel like I should acquire. I'm going to try to come up with a name for the island between now and the 20th, but I'm terrible at deciding on names for things in general, so I'm not really expecting that I'll succeed. We'll see.

i am! i’ve planned out my character’s appearance, island name, what fruit i want, what villagers i want, and i have the majority of my room ideas planned - the only thing i’m not sure of is how i want to landscape lol

I have my character name and island name decided, river outlet placements (since I don't think these can be changed) and loose ideas for how I want the island to be developed. I also have a small handful of villagers I absolutely must have, the rest are open for fresh faces!

I've been kind of playing around with the island designer, but I know it means nothing until the game is released and I actually know what my island will look like! It's fun, though. :)

I've thought about some basic things. Character and island names, airport color, villagers I don't want, and a few design ideas.

All I have planned is my town name, my own name, the fruit I want to be my starter (I won’t reset for it a lot though), and the general theme. (I won’t start the theme until I enjoy the game though)

I've had my town name and player name forever. I have a general idea of what I want my river layout to be. I've wanted to draw a map that I can play around with, but until I start the game I can't really do that since even if I have a general river layout...the way the cliffs are set up means I can't really fully draw out my town. I'll probably settle on a layout day one and then after that plan the town out.

I have a journal prepped, and I have vague ideas of what I want. My island's name. A basic layout. I know I want south and eastern outlets into the ocean. A blue or green plane. Apples. I know a few villagers I'd prefer to have, including Skye and Reneigh. I know I want a shopping area by the resident services in the southwest of town, the residential area in the southeast, a camping site, picnic area, and fruit orchard in the north. And I know I want my house smack in the middle, between two waterfalls, if I can help it.

I'm not going to use the island designer kit or make any firm decisions about where my lakes will be, or where specific trees or the river flow will be. I want to get a feel for the island's layout myself, especially since we don't know the limitations yet.

My number one fear would be to design the island in detail only to find that it's SLIGHTLY too small, or that I can't build to a certain height or place a certain thing in a certain place. So I won't fine tune the brush strokes until I know the canvas I'm working with.

i've mostly just been planning basic and general things, like my island theme, island name, and other factors like that! it's helping keep me occupied, but I also want to kind of go into it blindly, and just experience the game as it is instead of knowing exactly everything that I want. Can't wait!

I have my name and Island name planned. My ideal fruit and color as long as resets aren't terrible to me. And my ideal villagers.

Other than that everything will just develop organically. I have ideas of locales and places I want to construct in my town, but the layout will just happen as I go.

I always want to think of a theme before I start an AC game, but I never end up doing it. I always just collect furniture I liked and over time a theme and aesthetic is created.

Since we can put furniture outside and the new furniture looks amazing, I can?t wait to make themed places all across my island, but like I said before, the aesthetic will probably come to me with what?s available.

I?ve got rough plans, like the island name and how I want a shopping district and neighbourhood, but I might end up surprising myself. As long as it all looks nice, I?m happy. :)

I don't plan at all (except resetting for my native fruit). I don't want to think about that I'll discover all the possibilities in game.
