are you planning for your island?

I have chosen my island name (I think, lol) and character design. But I haven't planned layouts of anything like that but I have a vague idea of the aesthetic I want, cute, whimsical, quaint, cottage-like almost.
For the most part I'm just going to jump into the game and see where it takes me! I'm sure once I've chosen my starting island design, and see where everything is, I'll have a much better idea of how I want to plan it.

absolutely not. I can't plan ahead, I have to actually physically have the game to make a decision. the only thing I have prepared is my island name

I have my island name, character name and design ( might change a little ) and starting villagers I would like and will reset for. No plans for everything else.

I have an idea of what my character will look like and what I'll name my island. While I have some ideas of what I might like to do for my island, all of those plans will go out the window when I start up the game for the first time.

So far my plan is to have everything close together at the start. I plan to do an entire remodel of the island once I have the funds and terraform unlocked.

I've planned a few island names and the general aesthetic I want to have for my house/island. Aside from that, everything is going to be new/improved so I think it's kinda pointless for me to plan around stuff I haven't even seen yet.

I have my name, island name, and one villager I am getting. Other than that I won't know until I get the game. I will plan as I go.

i;m really into the idea of letting my island pan out naturally and just seeing what happens. every New Leaf town i've had has been planned down to the tiniest detail -- which is always fun to do but it's kind of draining making sure everything is perfect all the time. i'm looking forward to being more relaxed about new horizons, and of course the fact that you can change up your island with so much more ease will fit in with this too.:lemon:

The only planned things I have
Character Name: Sprout or Lime
Island Name: White Claw
Fruit: Orange or Peaches (I'm happy with either)
Layout: I want the double river mouths at the southern part of my island.

Everything else seems like it can be changed, so I'm not too worried about the rest.

I'm planning things that I want to do but not being super strict about the layout as I want that excitement of shaping the land as I go! I don't want expectations as I want to be able to come up with fresh ideas based on what I see!

besides the stuff i'd like to reset for and overarching theme, i haven't!
i'd like for it to come together as time goes on without pre-planning too much :3

I need to like my map, but other than that since it seems like we can relocate buildings I'm going to go with the flow in the beginning and once I have my bearings maybe start moving things around.

New Leaf was agonizing at times because of my micromanaging and how perfectly placed everything had to be. The restrictions were really crippling, too, and I regretted putting my house in the corner of my map by the waterfall because I had no space in front of it to put anything. It just felt very cramped.

I've got my island and character name figured out but other than that, I just go with the flow. I don't even have my character's appearance picked out yet because I always change it according to my clothing!

No plans ATM, maybe a small neighborhood community like I had in new leaf, ill make it up as I go along, as building can be relocated

I'm planning, to a degree. I'm not planning for what I'll do with terraforming, or anything that's really involved like that. But I know what my character name will be, and I have some island names that I'll pick from on launch day.

I have my Island's name and Villager's custimization picked out, but not my island's landscape because I'm bad at that. I do know I want the shops and villager's houses near each other. I want my house near the beach.
