Mine are pears just like in New leaf. Seems I can't escape them xD. The reason I don't care for them is I don't like how they taste and so can't imagine my character wanting to grow them but I come to accept them in my island. Many people don't have pears on their islands which then makes pears a very good resource for trading. Many of my trades in NH were for pears. Plus my mother's family surname is "pear tree" so it is symbolic in a way. Guess that is why pears don't leave me alone. So I am happy we can have more trees of other fruits so there is some variety for the residents and especially my character . If I could change my town fruit without resetting I would love to have cherries. I love to eat them and I don't like many fruits.
Mine are apples! No regrets there, they're basically one of my favorite IRL foods and I think they look good aesthetically-speaking as well, although I was able to collect all the other fruits too, so even that's not really an issue. But basically my only hope for my island's native fruit was "not pears", just because I had those as my fruit in New Leaf and wanted something a little different.
I've got peaches, and am still happy with them. I like the color and look of the cherry trees and pear trees best, but I think once you have them all on your island, the native fruit significance kind of disappears.
I do store at least one of each fruit when i go on a terraform/ redesign spree. Just in case I accidentally chop all of a non-native fruit down. I can always plant more.
My native fruit was apples! Given that NH was my first AC game, I didn't realise initially that your native fruit was random. I'm very happy with apples, and I wouldn't change them if given the choice!
My native fruit is the apple! It was my first native fruit since GNC, so I'm happy with it. The consistency pleases me. I think in other towns I had different native fruits, but specifically in this one I was looking for apples. Of course it doesn't matter now as I have all the fruits.
I have apples, and always would have preferred pears or maybe peaches. But as it's so easy to plant other fruit in your town I kept it for the villagers I got!
My native fruit is pears and I wish I could change it. No offense to any pear appreciators/lovers out there, but it's the only fruit I dislike and didn't want when I was resetting for my island. I remember I spent 2+ hours or so resetting for a map because I wanted a specific peninsula and placement for it, as well as a resident services that wasn't too close to the airport, so when I finally got the layout I wanted, I went with it despite having pears as my native fruit because I was no willing to lose the other things the map had that I wanted. I actually barely have any pear trees planted on my island though, and I pretend that cherries are my native fruit.
My first island had oranges. I wasn't too crazy about the oranges but it went with my airport colour so I was fine with it. However, I restarted and the game gave me pears and with it a green airport colour. I like pears and I am happy with them. If I had gotten apples I would have been sad because I dislike raw apples. Since green is my favourite colour I had to chose one I think it makes perfect sense. My island is also Japanese themed so getting any of the fruits other than oranges would have been fine by me.
i think my native fruit is either apples or cherries, i don't remember honestly. i wish i had peaches, but i don't really care about the native fruits too much so long as they aren't oranges or pears.
