The age gaps between my siblings and me are significant. As a child and as an adult, I'm not close to any of them. I've always felt like I grew up like an invisible only child, left to my own devices mostly, because all my siblings are far older and had better things to do than pay any attention to the littlest one. Especially when said littlest one is ridiculously introverted and not much fun to talk to anyway.
i am the youngest of three! my sister is 3 years older than me and my brother is around 20 minutes older haha. even though we're so similar in age i am definitely treated as the baby of the family, i love my siblings, they're wonderful, i'm glad i'm not an only child
I'm an only child. I always wanted siblings though. When I was a kid, I was jealous of my friends who had brothers and sisters... and they were jealous of me!
I have had the unique experience of living like an only child whilst also being the youngest. I am the youngest and only female child in my family, I have three older brothers with a 16, 13 and 8 year gap (suffice to say I was an accident) so my brothers are pretty old now (early middle aged- 30's) whilst I remain young lol! Despite the gap I am very close with my brothers, they are very important to me but I did essentially grow up as an only child so I understand what it's like not having a playmate at home. The brother that's 8 years older than me (so the second youngest) has an extremely rare disability called Wolf hershaw syndrome and that has changed my life. I had to learn to look after him from a very young age so that I could help my parents as they have tirelessly worked for money and then tried their best to take care of him so that he doesn't have to go to a horrible out of home care place. He needs 24 hr care with ludicrous amounts of expensive medications and injections. He loves music and his therapy dog very much and despite the fact he cannot talk, walk, eat normally etc I still have a close bond with him. Love my family very much.
I'm technically the youngest in my family. I'm a twin younger by 8 minutes
We have no other siblings and so it was an interesting experience I guess. I never met any other families who had twins, where the twins were the ONLY children, every other twin I know came from a family with other children as well. I would have appreciated a third sibling to take my side in our arguments lol
I think being a twin comes with a lot of pressure to "be the same" (or at least similar) which some twins embrace and some rebel against. We were definitely in the rebel category trying to be as different as possible!
I'm the oldest, and it really shows because I was the "trial" child and my younger siblings got to live the smooth and sweet life! My parents are immigrants so they truly didn't really know what was going on, and by the time I was a bit older and they got to know more local parents, my siblings were able to have experiences without the struggles of being the first to try them.
I’m the youngest child, with the most annoying 2 older sisters. One has moved out the house. It gets really annoying getting bossed around all the time and I always have to get them water, snacks, the Xbox remote from the cabinet, and way more. It is so annoying tho.
