My two close IRL friends are around the same age as me. I'm the oldest by a few months but we were all in the same year at school and such. My online friends I also tend to stick with people who are around the same age as me. I think most of my friends are around the same age as me, give a year or two either way. Of course there's always exceptions!
When it comes to co-workers I tend to find myself in jobs where I'm the youngest by a fair amount so it can be a little tricky for me to make friends. I do have a couple old co-workers that I still talk with who are older than I am.
There is a significant age gap between myself and my older brothers who are much closer in age. We are all very close, so I have become very good friends with their friends who range from a few years older than me to almost a decade older than me. My other friends (uni friends) are generally 2-3 years or more older than me. Even when I was going to school, I became friends with kids older than myself. I found people my own age or younger growing up difficult to deal with, mostly because I was used to an all-adult environment at home.
I have two older brothers, and most of my best friends are people that I grew up with because they were friends of my brothers. A lot of my closest friends are almost like brothers themselves for that reason. Some of these people, I've known for 20 years.
I'm surprised to see I'm not the only one whose friends are older. I really thought I'd be in the minority.
I don't really get along with people my age partly because we don't have much in common and it's hard to start a conversation when that's the case, idk..
I have a couple friends that are a year younger than me, but a lot of them are generally older than me. I don't have anyone who is the same age as me because I really don't have that much in common with ppl my age. Probably doesn't help that I never used Tiktok nor have any interest in it lol.
The people I consider my close friends are mostly my age and just a couple of them are older than me, but I also tend to get along with younger people. Speaking of friends and acquaintances online, I generally don't ask about ages, so they may vary
Most are a bit older. Back in high school most were my age, but most of them have moved on with their lives and don’t really talk to me much anymore.
I have a small sort of local group who all play Animal Crossing and share other Nintendo related interests and I believe I am the second youngest of the group. We currently just use an online chat room cause of covid but it’s nice to have some kind of outside communication.
I’m almost 25, the oldest guy I believe is 30 and the youngest is a couple years younger than me (23ish I think). Most of us are in our mid to late 20’s though.
My boyfriend is 2 years younger then me and we hang out with his friends a lot (precovid) so I guess I would say both cause I still have friends the same age as me. Nobody is really more then a few years younger or older though, no big differences.
most of my friends are the same age as me, but some of them are born in 03 and im an 04 so theyre 17 and im 16, but i turn 17 next month so it doesn't really make much of a difference. if anything im the youngest one in my friend group
I have no friends lol
Seriously I have one friend who lives far away now and as time goes on, we have been talking less and less. She is one year younger than me but we grew up in the same class at school. We have been friends since third grade. So like a friendship for about 20 years.
If online friends count, they are older than me or the same age.
It's a bit of both, I think, so I went with the last option. I think as you get older, the kinds of people you meet and befriend vary more, and in your 20s+, you still have a lot in common with people a few years older and younger than you. So I am 26, with friends in their early 20s but also friends who are in their 30s or even early 40s, and I can still relate to them in a lot of ways.
I am a kid at heart, so I relate more to people younger than me. Back when I was in school, I did have some friends who are older than me, but I've come to make friends who are mostly younger than me now.
All my friends are online friends and I don't even remember the age of some of them, woops.
But they should be around my age or older. Usually I get along better with people that are a few years older than me!
Most are younger than me. There's a 10ish year difference between me and the youngest of our friend group. I think I only have like 3 friends older than me.
I find age makes far less difference to your friend groups as you leave mandatory education etc and start mixing with literally everybody of adult age through work or hobbies.
Through school years every friend was pretty much the same age, all in the same year bracket. Hanging out with people even 1 year group higher felt super weird. Now I hang out occasionally with a 55 year old for a drink because we used to work together and just got on really well, then I'll spend the next day hanging out with a 22 year old playing DnD.
Most of them are my age as I made them in my school class. A few of them are one or two years younger. But even among the school friends I'm older than them for a few months because I was born in February.
perhaps because they're all school friends, the majority of my close irl friends are all around my age! I'm a good few months older but we're in the same school year so it doesn't really count. most of my online friends are younger than me though
