monsters are meant to scare us, to give us nightmares, and keep us on our toes. artist, movie produces, and everyone who makes this magic happen love to hear they did their job. then there are those of us who love the monsters find them to be more beautiful than scary and often enjoy creating our own.

what do you think of monster movies?
do you have a favorite?
what is a monster that scared you the most as a kid?
what monster do you think is beautiful and why?
favorite monster actor/actress?
favorite monster maker?

i personally love monster movies. my favorite would be pan's labyrinth (though not really scary it dose have plenty of monsters).
oof tarman from t[FONT=Roboto, arial, sans-serif]he return of the living dead...i was 4 or 5 when our babysitter rented a bunch of scary movies and that was the first one in...pretty sure if my stuffed bunny could of talked it would of been gasping for air from how tight i was hugging it. i'm not scared anymore but whoa boy was i then.
i think the faun because of how odd he is.

hmmm thats a hard one probably del toro just because he makes them super different.

1: love em! Every year I do a binge where I try to watch a different horror movie every day for the month of October.
2:classic ones like Dracula and Frankenstein, but I’m also fond of Guillermo delToro’s work too.
3:I was terrified of aliens as a child.
4:the fish man from the shape of water. he got dat booty. ( ͡? ͜ʖ ͡?)
5:I don’t really have a strong opinion about this but, like I said, I like classic movies so maybe Bela Lugosi or Boris Karloff.
6:again, I don’t really have a strong opinion, but I’ll say delToro. I love the humanity in his creations c:

the shape of water was amazing. Doug jones has a nice butt indeed.

I feel like "monsters" as a concept is not scary for me, but there are specific "monsters" I guess that I like and dont like. for example when I was younger I use to love/hate watching those "Finding Bigfoot" and other cryptids shows on the history channel (also ancient aliens). I think they are soooo interesting but at the same time kinda scary lol. Like I sometimes enjoy watching them from the comfort of my own home but unlike these people in the show who go after them, I would never, ever, ever, ever want to see one in real life. I think encountering one would be scary for me mainly because despite its humanoid shape and probable intelligence, I cant communicate with it which is a scary thought for me idk. So kind of a love/hate thing since I enjoy admiring them from afar.

I DO really like those adventure/thriller movies like The Mummy because thats not scary at all to me and I think its fun. So I guess my fav monster would be the mummy from that movie if he counts lol

And then lastly I dont like horror movies at all bc most of them are not scary to me and are uninteresting to me story wise because I like more adventure movies BUT I really dont like horror movies that are supernatural (like ghosts, demons, etc) because im religious so I believe in the supernatural and so its especially scary for me and I dont like it haha

i mean, i’m really into horror movies but i feel like most of those aren’t classified as monster movies but instead supernatural ones? as for whether i like monster movies, stuff like frankenstein or dracula never really appealed to me much so i suppose i’m not a huge fan of them lol.

i think the closest thing i have to a favourite monster movie is the nightmare before christmas tbh lmao.

as for monsters that scared me as a kid? uh,, i was never afraid of like zombies or vampires or any of that. i did at one point have an irrational fear of the boogeyman but i’m not entirely sure if he counts - i also was terrified of pennywise the clown for a bit, but once again, not entirely sure if he counts lol.

this is the last question i’ll answer as i don’t have much expertise and while i’m not sure if this counts, but i find aliens to be fascinating - i know there are some people who are afraid of alien invasions and all that and it’s even been the premise of several movies but i for one find the possibility of aliens actually existing to be quite remarkable lol
