Sale for Brawl = how many they can make =p
Completely true.

By the way, the hype for Brawl in my grade is off the charts. So you can't say Canada has "gone casual". We're on par with the US in that category, IMO.
I disagree. Many people in my area consider Wii terrible. They prefer other consoles because they have better graphics.

However, most Nintendo DS owners are casual.
Your area does not represent all of North America. No... not most DS owners are casual.
I understand that. However, I still think that Canada(as well as the US) are gone casual. It seems like games on Nintendo systems aren't that common.
Just because the people at your school dislike Nintendo and are "ZOMG PS3!!11!" doesn't make Canada casual.
IN MY AREA! I'm not referring to school. [/quote]
However I'm sure you don't know everyone in the province or even your county....

The way you talk about Canada brings up a question...what state is Canada in?

That better not be a serious question, and if you are meaning to say Canada doesn't matter when it comes to discussing North American game sales, you're wrong.

:p Ignoring the first comment, yeah, it is easy to judge a large group by a small number, and that is what Snoop is incorrectly doing.

And since the US is many times larger... I expect day one sales getting to a million, if not exceeding that.
That doesn't indicate how well it'll sell. I'm sure Japan has more Wiis per capita than the US by a lot. Not to mention that video games are much more popular in Japan.

While that may be true, a lot of video games sell better here then in Japan.

Impressive.
However, I doubt it will sell a lot in North America. Most North American Wii owners are casual gamers.
You must not understand how "casual" brawl is.

It's about as high up as halo.

@bul - From what I hear, there will be shortages... Don't expect huge numbers on day one, week one, or month one... Nintendo is going to drag this puppy out so everyone will be waiting in lines for it, that's what makes the news.

And SSBM is one of those games...

And you're living in cloud cuckoo land if you think they're out there to be the good guys. They're there for your money, just like any other company.

You are such the business professional. Whenever somebody has a question about a business we should just go right to you. You are so smart and know everything. You know more about Nintendo than Iwata himself. You know the ins and outs of every company and you are the guru of sales. You own Microsoft. You are an adviser for General Electric. You write for INC magazine because you are so informed about what's going on. You are on CNN daily talking about the economy. We love you spreading your superior knowledge.

Can I have your autograph.... sir?

Is that all you've got..?

@ Snoop: Alright, the east coast of Newfoundland certainly must be different than over here. I bet if I went to my school, or to any gamer in my area, pretty much ALL of them would know what Brawl is, and very very little would even think about getting Wii Fit. And you say most gamers are gone casual, simply take a look at the amount of gamers on XBL. That's enough of an argument right there. Though many people like casual, never underestimate the number of hardcore gamers either, especially in Canada as well.

Because you aren't taking anything out of context!

Ok STORM, why weren't as much Wii systems produced because they knew the demand would be high. This holiday season, customers had even a somewhat harder time getting a Wii than last year, and was even in the head lines. In the news ads, someone sold a Wii for $550.
It sounds like Nintendo would not pull themselves out of positions for the 'thought of good karma' and be "the good guys and family company we are."
