Path broken tiles/stones, moss, wild flowers

AW YEAH, Potato's joined the party! <3

Okay, here's preview round #2.What do you guys think? Did you like the bigger stones instead? Heh..."bigger stones". I just used moss this time, since my attempts to make 3-D looking grass just wound up looking like little brown tentacles.

...I think I'm losing my mind. Lemme check...yep.

Very nice! I tend to like my stones a tad larger, but since I'm doing a reset of one of my towns, that can change. I really like the dark grey colour of the brick, the lovely mossy edge, and the aged appearance you've put on the stones! I like it VERY much! Plus, you've made it so beautifully seamless!

Actually, I think the smaller stones are actually a better idea than slightly larger ones. Even tho large patterns have been used all thruout time, smaller is more common and practical and makes more sense. I likey!

Ugh...yeah...grass...I can only imagine how difficult that must be. Forget about that. The moss is PERFECT! :) This Spooky Brick is ideal because it is non-seasonal. It fits for Halloween and for any time because it has no holiday theme attached to it. It has the "atmosphere" which is what we are going for.

Nicely done! *squee!!!* I can't wait to use it!

And I can promise you I'll pay it forward. :)

Yay! Yeah, I wanted to make it a tiny bit bigger but I'm limited by the grid size. 32 pixels = giant honkin' stones or teeny tiny ones. Any other way and they eouldn't line up with one another. :/

I'll keep working on this and tweak it a bit, see if I can get it looking better. Then I'll make the corner/end pieces and link you the codes!

Ooh! Thank you thank you thank you! You're the best...you know that? I can't wait! :) I mean, I CAN, but I'm just excited to see how they'll all turn out together. When I get them in my new town I'll post pics. Woo hoo! :)

Okay, I'm stalking here now!
Been looking for creepy natural looking groundcover for a while now but all I've seen are a few rivers of blood, halloweeny tiles and, a trapdoor with bloody spikes.

Ooooo I might try to steal that bloody meat cleaver idea.

Also, here's my gravestone, it turned out okay, I guess? Bleh. Perspective is hard. ><;; Oh, and also I'm gonna try and get the basic four tiles up of that path tomorrow. The hard part is figuring out the pattern of the tiles, it took a few hours but I've got it down now so it should go much faster. I'll get the corners and end pieces up later this week.

Update time!

Progress is coming along pretty well. I want your opinion, though, Do you prefer the darker moss, or the lighter? The change is really subtle, but I can't decide which I like better.

The stones with moss is subtle, but I like the first one because there is more of it, which I think makes since given the atmosphere that I, for one, am trying to convey. :) I think it looks wonderful! Your hard work is so appreciated! <3 I've already copied it! I love it and how old and absolutely seamless it is. You do terrific work! *hugs!* Looking again, I still like the first one better. It is slightly darker and older, and that, for me, is exactly what I am looking for. NICE!

And the gravestone is much better than what I have now. I'll be happy to use it! I have a bit of a hard time making out the first part, a year? 2011? (For future zombie? Love that!) The RIP is very clear and the grass at the bottom of the stone is PERFECT. The only thing I have trouble with is the left side. Is it finished off? It looks (or it could be my pc colour settings) like it's slightly cut off and blurred, while the rest is clear and very nice.

Oh, it was supposed to be a perspective thing, like you're viewing it form a 3/4 angle, but I guess it doesn't convey that illusion too well. :/ And yeah, it says 2011 - the corpse can't be TOO old, then he wouldn't be able to walk around!

Oh, you're so right! I like it! Leave it the way it is. :) I like the different perspective thing. And the corpse not being too old thing. LOL! :D

fringeee~ i keep forgetting to check this thread and the conversation moves on and you're all making such an effort and my ass isn't even showing up to say thank you, ajdhsagdaskdasdjas. D: i'm horrible.

You're okay! (((HUG))) I understand. We basically want to have double AND single. Some places need double for a "real" path and some places need single for a narrow one. I think you mean that your town has some maze-like qualities to it? Rat-runnish makes me think of a maze. Is that what you meant? If so, that's cool! And you would need a single tile for that sort of thing because a double would be too wide. Gotcha! :)

Also, if there is a single "borderless" piece, we can make areas even wider than double. For example, I like to make a couple of paths about 4 or 5 wide, like from the Town Hall to my Mayor's house, or from the Town Hall to the Event Plaza. I also like to fill in my Plaza so I'd need something without borders for the entire "inside" portion of it.

I do like your simple gravestone! The cross is simple and I may use it...but I do prefer to leave religion out of my town altogether if I can. But please, don't go to any trouble for me if you can't find the simple RIP. :) I'm copying the cross one anyway because I just may use it in my cycling town. I just don't want religious symbols in my Main Town. :)

I couldn't tell that English isn't your first language! You speak it VERY well and write it better than some native English speakers I know. So kudos and congrats to you! *hands YOU a well-deserved cookie!* You are doing just great. :)

aw, thank you <3 nomnomnom.
i sometimes just have really bad anxiety about my english because i feel like i'm not able to explain things properly and look like an idiot :D but i'm glad to hear that this doesn't seem to be the case.

you got exactly what i meant with "borderless" tiles :3 right now i feel like i could just say "bloop" and you'd understand :D

re: "rat run", i just looked up the word again and it's british english slang, the american equivalent is "secret/hidden path." sorry for the confusion :3
what i wanted to build was a really overgrown forest - trees, bushes and flowers everywhere and then some small, curved, messy paths that lead from one house to another with a few "larger" streets. as if you really walked through a forest on the surfaced path and then just decide to break into the scrub to see where you'll get.

can't find the code right now. must still be on my work computer.

in the meantime, try looking in Hitokui Village if you like non-nature related stuff

and a little dress I recently found

i'm actually wearing that dress since what feels like forever :D it's really lovely.
also thanks for the tumblr link, there are some qr codes i snatched <3

<3 <3 <3 <3 <3
i prefer the darker moss but i don't know about the others - maybe just put both qr codes out there and everyone picks the one that fits their town/preferences better?

i can't even begin to say how happy i am you're doing this for me/us... i'd really be screwed if i attempted these things on my own because i'm pretty much useless when it comes to these things. thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou <3

found the trapdoor and a few other bits of weirdness
