Someones already bid on my auction and I've realised the time ive set in the post is way too long, especially since i need to get a villager off someone and they can only wait a shorter amount of time. Would i be able to change the time? not completely cancel the auction of course

It's your thread, but I do have to say I personally think it's a bit of a jerk move to reduce the time people can bid on because someone put a prices that caught your eye.

Entirely up to you how you handle it, but next time you do an auction, perhaps an auto-buy would be a good idea.

The end time of the auction should not be increased or decreased after it has already started.

Pulled this straight from the rules

maybe thats in the rules but I feel like I've definitely seen people do this, like the other day after some downtime I saw someone extend the end of their auction. ik its a different circumstance but still. not recommending to go against rules, but I feel like whats the harm if the bidders are ok with it being shortened.

wait maybe I missed it but i dont think the OP said anything about that being why they want to shorten it. I thought they said its way too long and they are trying to get another villager from someone who can't wait until the end of their auction; from what I see it sounds like totally non-jerky reasoning.
