Can Nintendo cut the finale upgrade costs?

Everyone agrees the final upgrade is too expensive, but I also think the penultimate upgrade could do with a price drop. Right now, you pay about 200k extra for each new upgrade, then it spikes to 500k extra, and then to 1.3 mil extra (over twice the price of the previous upgrade).

I just think it would be more inline if you cut 200k off the penultimate upgrade, and 1 mil off the final upgrade, then, the prices would match the other upgrades better.

Oh, and if you had the upgrades already, the savings would be deposited into your bank account. So, can Nintendo do this?

It's always been like this in AC, so I'd like that they don't cut the price. Making Bells is easy enough already once you learn the ropes

i wouldn't mind cheaper upgrade costs, but i wouldn't hold my breath that nintendo would do anything about that sadly

I think it's because the difficulty is supposed to increase more and more as you get through the game, not just a steady increase. That's my idea about it!

See, personally, the way upgrades have always been done, this new way is, well, inconsistent. Loan prices have never jumped so high before. WW, the last time prices went high, capped out at just under 1 mil. And this new house has what? A slightly bigger second floor, and a basement. I just don't see why the loan prices should have sky rocketed.

Also, bear in mind the new prices would be just over 1 mil, and just over 1.5 mil. Still not cheap, but still in line with WW upgrade costs.

The total cost of the house is already less for NH than it is for NL. I highly doubt they would lower it any further.
I don't think it's too expensive at all, actually. Earning money is easy enough, and even easier if you are an active trader.

I usually dont focus on my house for a looong time since I'm putting my bells towards the rest of the town anyway, but I found out recently that the storage space in your house is tied to your house size which is,, admitted really annoying when I'm trying to save stuff up to use later when I figure out what I'm doing. But otherwise the prices don't bother me too much personally. A tad annoying to deal with extra trips to making tarantula islands and trying to get huge profits from turnips, but it's nothing impossible or that out of reach I don't think :O

So how easy did you make the 2.5 mil for that final upgrade?

I understand the frustration, depending on how you get bells and time spend on it. It can take some time. You can dislike and disagree with the decision all you want. Animal crossing is game that progression over time and working up up to things is huge. Nothing is quick unless you use work arounds. Upgrades to your house are extremely expensive but they have been designed that. I am in the boat its going to take me awhile xD

I understand the upgrading costs are frustrating, but they've kinda been like that for a while. Not to mention the fact it was much worse in New Leaf. So I feel like with New Horizons, there was a bit more leniency.

Imo, it's really not even that bad when you consider all of the ways you can make money. The turnip market is probably the biggest of all, I have almost 4 million saved. From a combination of selling a lot of turnips and all the bugs, fish, and fossils I've acquired.

I don't think that's necessary, there are many ways to get a lot of bells in a short amount of time. One inventory full of tarantulas or peacock butterflies will give you more than 100k bells, you'll only have to do that 25x for the final update. In one week I've already surpassed a million bells and I currently have 500k in my bank because I don't upgrade my house at the moment.

If you concentrate on making bells (catching rare bugs or any other method mentioned in this thread), you'll easily bought your house completely within a month. And that's giving you a lot of leeway. It's pretty fast for Animal Crossing.

I edited the name of the thread because people are misunderstanding my point. Bells aren't the main issue, consistency is.

cheaper upgrade costs would be nice but i doubt they’ll happen

On the positive side, once you pay off the final upgrade, you can make changes to the exterior as many times as you want going forward and it doesn't cost anything. You can make one change per day.
