Two days ago you may have entered a thread that crashed your browser because of the overwhelming amount of spam images and autoplay/hidden videos. Some people were banned or suspended as a result. Sometimes when someone is banned they have a hard time dealing with it and insult the mods or go on spam attack rampages. This has happened with at least one member, which explains the recent spam attacks. Spam attacks have happened at TBT (and other forums) many, many, many, times and we have dealt with this recent one. We will also take care of the spam attacks in the future.

The other day a few members got carried away and they were suspended as a result. Most suspensions were about three days. Some of the banned members have criticized the mods of erratically banning people as a response to the spam thread. This did not happen. Yes, even though it crashed most computers, I was able to read the posts by disabling images in my browser and reading it in sections. Therefore I was perfectly able to make a judgment about who got what suspension. And no, it was not erratically. I did not pick random times for each person. It was all done procedurally. The severity of the bans were based on 1) amount of spam and 2) previous history of breaking the rules. One person was permabanned for their history of spam attacks here. You do not need a 100% warn level to be permabaned, but you do need to prove to the mods that you consistently break the rules, seek to make people upset, and are unwilling to improve.

Out of the people involved, some have criticized us for being too hard, some have criticized us for being too easy, some have criticized us for helping our "friends," some have criticized us for not helping our friends. These are contradictions because they aren't true. We will ban you by-the-books if you are our friend or not. We don't pick people to ban and lengths of the ban randomly. And the response by at least one person only justifies that they deserved to be banned. If you are banned and want to contact TBT, email support@the-bell-tree.com. And please don't spam or try to crash TBTer's computers.
