Can we do this

How about instead there is a limit on purchases. 2 per person. 1 to keep 1 to sell.

This would be nice. It'd at least lower the amount hoarders could take. I remember they limited apples when they were released to 1 per person (unique) so people who already had one couldn't get anymore. I think temporary limiting them this way might work.

tbh i never saw the logic of how someone getting a bunch of them wasnt fair. if they got them fair and square in the shop, then its perfectly fair. yea it sucks to not get what u want but just bc u dont get what u want doesnt mean it was unfair for the other person to get a bunch.

imo this would actually just gunk up servers for longer, bc people would start refreshing even after the store was sold out to see if anyones cart timer runs out and it restocks. plus i feel like this would be a hard thing to program, and itd be really mundane bc of how rare restocks are.

every time theres restocks people start making requests for updates to the shop bc they think itd make them get the collectibles, but you realize collectibles are taken from your cart bc someone had a faster internet speed or was a bit ahead of you, so chances are if you arent geting collectibles now, no matter what rule update, you probably wouldnt get collectibles again bc whoever ended up stealing them from your cart would get them in their cart before you with this programming change.

its the sad truth of things s:

I think putting a limit on the number of collectibles is the unfair thing, not the fact that people can get 6 of the same collectible.
If you're fast and have the funds why should you be limited?

*Looks @ your 11 cherries*

I don't think changes should be added to the cart.

There could just be no cart. Just "buy" "you sure?" "yes"
A handful of sites do that, like gaia, flight rising, mycena cave, etc.

Edit - and before anyone says this would be slower, it wouldn't be. I used to be a vender on gaia and could buy an item in 2-3 seconds. Sometimes even 1 second.

This sounds reasonable.

Or, if someone really wanted to buy a bunch at once, then I agree with both a time limit and an amount limit. Then when you empty your cart, you can start over if you want. That's how sample sale websites work.

I don't think an amount limit is their intention in these restocks. If they wanted one, they'd do it. It was done for spellectibles.
I didn't spend months saving up tbt to buy multiple items just to have a limit on how many I could buy.

It doesn't take months to save up to buy multiple collectibles from the shop. It takes months to save up to buy collectibles from someone who bought multiple collectibles from the shop and then jacks the price way up to resell them.

It can though, it depends on how often people can come here as well as how long their stays are. Not everyone has the time to make even 100 tbt in a day, and if you want like 10 of one collectible that's even more work.

Well those users would benefit from purchase limits because they can't afford to buy 10 of them at once. Also, if those users are struggling to afford buying them at the shop price, they sure as hell aren't going to be able to pay the 5-10 times that price that a scalper who bought a few collectibles demands. Unlimited purchasing doesn't really benefit users with a lot of TBT since it just reduces their odds of being able to buy any collectibles at all to spend the TBT they earned and it doesn't benefit users with less TBT since they can't afford to buy a lot anyway. It just benefits users with a fast connection which doesn't sound like a very good goal of such a policy.
