I used a NMT, and I as soon as I get to the island, I see Cephalobot- and I think they're an adorable villager, but they also don't quite fit the vibe of my island...what should I do? Should I invite them, or see if I can find someone better?

I know, and I want to, I'm only worried because what if I ruin my chances of getting a good cottagecore villager because I take him- aghhhh I'm too indecisive for animal crossings cute villagers TuT I'll wait at his island and turn it into a tarantula farm while I debate to take him lmao

If you're not sure you want him then keep looking, he is the easiest to find of the new villagers because there's only 4 octos in the game and the game rolls to determine the species of the villager first when picking who shows up

I’d say don’t get him unless you really like his design and can picture him eventually fitting in on your Island.

It sounds a bit like your main excitement is coming from him being new, and that just wouldn’t be enough of a reason to pick him for me.

Again, you should go with someone you love and think is a good villager. Don’t get caught up in the hype just for the sake of it.

I invited him and he’s one of my favorite smug villagers now! My vibe is whoever I like moves in

If he is easy to find- then I think I'll move on- it's a tough choice- but I have another 23 tries for a good cottagecore villager-

I mean, he’s about as far removed from cottagecore as a villager can be. No doubt he’s very cool, and I’m personally planning on getting him—but that’s only because he’s a great fit for my Island.

Hey you can always get rid of villagers too =) Nothing is permanent in the game!

Invite him. If you don't like him, you can just move him out. You also don't have to stick to a theme for your island if it stops you from having fun.

I got Bruce the deer two islands in a row so anything's possible. I say invite him and then if he asks to leave after a while, say goodbye.

As for me, I invited him as soon as I saw him. I love the way his house is designed.

I'd say invite him if you want him. You can always trade him away later. But honestly? If you're going for a theme then by all means keep searching. I wouldn't let him being new determine it. Rather I'd say by how much you like them.

I would take him in even if he isn't a dreamie because I just love the experience of having all the villagers. What's the point of rushing to get everything/all dreamies/etc asap I think it makes the game boring, but depends on your playstyle. If you're far from completing all your villagers and don't TT then I wouldn't, but if you have a couple dreamies already, why not?

I found Shino and Tiansheng both twice last night and I didn't take them cause they weren't who I wanted. Now I've got Ione moving in and I'm thrilled. Don't give up on getting who you really want

i’d say take him, you can always cycle him out if you decide later than his aesthetic doesn’t fit.

sometimes it’s good to wait as well! You can always visit him somewhere else or cycle him in later if you really end up wanting him
Every villager I really like doesn’t always fit into my town either
