What are you planning on naming your character?
Myself, I'm not sure if I want to pick a fun made up name or just use a shortened version of my real name.

I'm struggling between choosing my real name and something else. i will most likely name my character oliver (my name) and then have other characters with other names.

Same as the above: real (nick)name for my main player and made up ones for additional characters.

I prefer using my real name for several reasons, but a very practical one is that I don’t have to worry about getting sick of it. It’d be difficult to choose a random name and then have to go by that for multiple years. It’d at least have to be a name that I’ve already established some way (username, name in other games etc.)

I'll just use my real name. I've considered using a nickname because it "looks" better with my island name, but I feel weird about using a nickname that no one calls me by actually. And I agree with what was said above, I won't be getting sick of my real name as it has grown on me.

I’ll probably use either my Real first name or my real middle name. I’ve always just used my real first name but I really like my middle name and I’ve been toying with using that instead. I haven’t decided yet.

I think I'm going with Winnie. It's a nickname that I like better than my full name.

I plan on naming my character my middle name, "Mai'ana/Maiana" since it seems kind of islandish.
This will be the first time I actually go by my real/middle name since I usually create other names for my characters. :)

thinking about Ein, one of my favorite characters. thing is, it doesn’t match super well with my town name ideas so idk

i've never done themed towns so i'll be using my real name like i've done for all the ac games previously

I always name my character Kaiaa, wish I could be more creative but that?s the way I?ve always done it!

I always use Mary for my main character name and then name the side characters after my friends :) I do want to create a Friends-themed island at some point though! I'd have the five friends and group their houses together based on where they live in the series, ex) Joey and Chandler would be right next to each other since they share a room. I have a bunch of ideas for that town :)

I plan on using my own name. But my name is 9 letters, so I?m hoping we have a character limit higher than 8 this time! I don?t go by any nicknames irl, so it always felt weird to shorten my name in past AC games.

I think I'm going with Ellie, it's a nickname for my full name, but just not the normal nickname I use. It sounds cuter and softer than the name I usually use.

Ever since I took a Japanese language course at the leisure learning center, I've gone by the name of Joji for my avatar. It was the name I was given by the teacher.

i?m naming my character xara, which is my real name, but my side characters will be named juniper and sage c:

John Wick.

John is always my name anyway, as that is my real name.

ugh! I know your issue!! This is why I struggle with what to name my character in rpg games. my name is just too long alot of the time and my shortened version just seems bland (and honestly not that cute or pretty) to me lol!

People irl do call me by my shortened name because it is faster to say and people tend to struggle writing it down it because it can be spelled in multiple ways. the shorten version for the most part eliminates the question of asking me how to spell my name.
