Character Removal

Since I think they will take major strides with food in the game and the Happy Home Showcase won't be in it, I can see Digby being like the restaurant manager or something like that that involves were they go with the food.

Pretty sure they would never remove Isabelle from the games, especially since
she's so popular that they put her in games such as Mario Kart and Super Smash
Bros. She even has her own Twitter account (or at least she runs it) and I would
go so far and say that she somehow become the mascot of Animal Crossing. Even
if the player wouldn't become the mayor again in the new game, they would just
give her a new job, maybe even turn her into the new mayor.

Exactly my thoughts, it's extremely unlikely they would try to remove Isabelle since she's so popular. As for the other characters I'm sure they'll keep them, some roles may be moved around though (someone mentioned the idea of Phineas leaving, for example, but they had him in City Folk and brought him into New Leaf with a new role; I think this may be the case with characters in that same "secondary NPC" tier if that makes sense).

Leila may be cut as I don't know many people who really used her and buy selling items to her it's not worth it as it is only 5% of what it would usual sell for. It'd be much better to sell to Reese or the Nooklings. Unless they somehow give her a new role I can't imagine her being kept honestly, even for as much as she's adorable.

I am hoping that some of the characters role's would be the same yet have slightly different role that they play. It would be nice for Crazy Redd to have a bigger role in what he was doing in the previous AC titles, Timmy & Tommy should have some character redesign to pull away from looking like a copy & paste Tom Nook look-a-like. Gulliver should stay in his roots as a Sailor but he actually has a boat with his crew that he always talks about in his stories. Kapp'n and his family should have their own Kappa island with other Kappa's and maybe some mermaids. As for the Able sisters, they're fine just the way they are as they already have a backstory and character development. I also want to see more of the flying UFO and maybe start introducing more alien aspects into the game BUT keep it original so it still feels like an Animal Crossing game. Having an Octopus as an alien character would be very fitting.

As for the Able sisters, they're fine just the way they are as they already have a backstory and character development. I also want to see more of the flying UFO and maybe start introducing more alien aspects into the game BUT keep it original so it still feels like an Animal Crossing game. Having an Octopus as an alien character would be very fitting.

About the Able Sisters, while I love their backstory and characters, their shop has remained mainly untouched since the beginning if you exclude having Labelle being added on the side and I believe they deserve an upgrade.
Also I love the idea of Octopus Villagers being akin to an 'alien species' that can appear!

If Leila stays, at least don't let her buy stuff from you. The way she treats you is why I find her to be one of New Leaf's most annoying characters.

For removing characters, Leila wouldn?t be missed by me. Adding characters on the other hand, bring back the personal Gyroid.

I don't think any of the major and well-known characters will be canned. I can see them getting new and different roles within the game, because many characters have in the series. At the very least they'd give the characters some kind of minor appearance. Kind of how Frillard doesn't really have any significance but he does appear in the game as a fun little easter egg almost.

I also really dislike Leila's current role, but I do kind of hope they'll just... do something else with her rather than remove her. I'm sure the island will still be a thing, so Kappn's family has a fair chance of returning, as well. But if she does return, I'd honestly be shocked if they kept her role as-is. I don't really know anyone who uses her feature in New Leaf.

+1 agreeing that Leila needs to be revamped in some way. Right now the only purpose she serves is clearing junk out of your inventory that you don't want to take back to the mainland (sea bass vs a shark)... but you could do the same thing faster by just releasing them. If they want to keep her as the island's "merchant" the least they could do is give her a unique furniture set to give out after you've thrown enough sea basses at her, or award badges for selling to her. But I'd rather have her do something different. I don't know how well it could work, but maybe if they keep the tours and medals system, Leila could compete against players doing a solo tour? idk
