Nintendo may have a road map for what they plan to offer and when. we'll all have to wait and see. We will be getting the guide book in 3 weeks, and I assume Nintendo wouldn't hold too much back, as that would be detrimental to the book.
So some characters arnt in the game whoopty doo. Each game in the series has removed one or two characters so it's not insanely bad. They're probably replaced just like Joan

I guess we're all gonna forget the Welcome amibo update for Acnl haha
The problem is its not just some, compare New Leaf's cast (even before Welcome amiibo) to New Horizons cast. New leaf kept the vast majority of content in the game while adding a ton more. You can't overlook the fact that New Horizons took things such as the Roost, the police station, Gyroids, swimming, LOTS (not just one or two) of NPCs and a lot of furniture series.
I get that its not a big deal to some people, but saying it took out one or two characters is a huge understatement.
Yes! Many things are missing, but from the reviews, almost everything is based around secrecy. There is a lot they cannot tell us and I bet there are many surprises in the game. c:
Its unfair to call it cut content in the first place. Just because your favorite characters from the franchise did not appear in NH its only because the developers never planned to have them in it. You cant have everything in a single game and I think there’s plenty of content in NH anyways
Yeah I keep forgetting that my last real disappointment was Pokemon, and that was from the Pokemon Company. Animal Crossing has yet to cut things except for the first sequel. I do worry that they removed old characters from a marketing perspective, though, or to reboot the cast. But seeing Tom Nook, Gulliver, and Blathers give me hope.
There are so many secrets in this game that I feel haven't been revealed or shown to us. With that in mind I still have a lot of hope that things will either come back in updates like some posters have said OR they'll come as we play! Back when the demo from Nintendo themselves came out and video game reviewers got to play they said they got to play a third demo that they couldn't talk about.. which makes me think there's more than what meets the eye
