Chores You Actually Enjoy

I guess cleaning? I like how the place looks when it starts to come together. I hate being disorganized. So organizing things makes me feel better and have a better headspace. Some people can deal with cluttered rooms, but I just can't think properly. It just feels so good to have that clean feeling and it uplifts my mood.

I would say cooking, but it depends on what it is. I like to experiment so if I have to cook for others who are picky eaters and complain about anything I make then no I hate that. Get off your butt and make your own food if you're that ungrateful.

I like washing the dishes and doing the laundry. Washing the dishes is therapeutic sometimes but I dislike wasting so much water and I like to save time so the dishwasher is more preferable. I like when laundry is done because the clean clothes and sheets smell nice.

I actually enjoy cooking, doing dishes, vacuuming, laundry, etc. so long as I am listening to music, uninterrupted!

I think the one I enjoy most though is cooking, unless that doesn't count as a chore.

I usually consider cooking a chore, like if you’re making dinner. But if you’re trying a new recipe for fun, I guess not. Baking is more of a hobby in my mind, but some dinners are baked? 🤔 Idk the line is thin.

I'm not fond of cleaning, but washing the windows is ok, I'm outside, taking a bit of sun. I like the the vacuum cleaner too, because the noise make other noises disappear 😅

Saturday is my weekly cleaning day. There are some things I don't enjoy (cooking, cleaning the bathroom, & microwave), but I enjoy the rhythm and results of these:
  • Wiping down surfaces (kitchen counters, shelves, tables, windowsills, cabinets, stair banister, desk, and high touch areas like door knobs, light switches, handles, remotes, controllers, keyboard, mouse, etc.)
  • Vacuuming & doing a quick swifter
  • Laundry (fresh towels, sheets, and pillowcases) weekly is a must
  • All my pup chores: taking her for walks, feeding her breakfast/dinner, giving her a bath, etc.)
  • Dishes are a toss-up. I don't mind doing them as I make them and find it therapeutic, but when they're left to sit for most of the day, I'm not a fan

I find vacuuming pretty relaxing and a good excuse to move around a bit.

Laundry is simple and easy.

I'm good with dishes most of the time but sometimes it can be a pain to completely clean a pan depending on what you make. Someday, I'd like a washing machine, but until then I'm generally fine with dishes.

Yard work like mowing the lawn, gardening, also good excuse to move around.

I like washing dishes since I've done it at my previous part-time job. Also, I think doing the laundry and folding them afterwards is quite easy.

I freaking HATE taking out the garbage. In my street, everyone has to drag their own garbage cans to the front yard every week when the trash men come to pick them up and ours can be heavy. That's the one chore I never liked doing.

This is more of an employee responsibility than a chore, but I go WAY overboard with cleaning the buses I drive. How much? I try to clean every single spot and crevice I can reach, even if I know that no one else will care at all. Yes, there are certain stains and blemishes I can never fix, but the feeling of a deep clean is oddly satisfying. In fact, I tend to clean more on my paid downtime rather than browse boring stuff on my phone.

This is the kind of stuff I wish my mom could fully understand when I was still living under her roof.
