Hello there bby. This is my super duper sophisticatedly is that a word set up art thread, where you can request stuff!

Today, it is OPEN // closed

omg2.png

-I'm just a beginner and I want to experiment with things as much as I can so that I can find how I like to draw best. As a result, you might have no idea how your art might turn out x)

-My art is pretty lame, so harsh constructive criticism is not only accepted but appreciated. Just don't go too overboard.

-Please, please do not give me refs that are hosted on imgur and aren't direct linked. It always crashes my laptop. If you want a good alternative, please consider postimg. It's where I always host my pictures.

-I work at a very odd pace, so I might take anywhere from a few hours to a few years to finish your request. That's why this stuff is free, so that I don't feel pressured to complete anything.

-Not first come first serve. I may deny your request.

Looks great so far! Much better than your last "critique me" thread C:

The only thing I'd recommend is finding a definite light source. Unless your light source is directly in front of the character, in that case the shadows would be on both sides of a character. Sorry if that sounds confusing, I made a little picture here for better clarity (sorry it's so crappy I sprained my finger on my dominant hand and my pen pressure isn't working so it was kinda uncomfortable xD). Another thing to do is to tone down the shading a bit. Unless the light is very little, then the shadows won't need to be that prominent/plentiful.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh now i get it!!
it's easier to understand than the pictures of spheres that pop up when I google 'light and shadow tutorial'.

I like the design of the dress, looks good! :) Could you try drawing Biskit the dog or Rosie the cat in a cute pose? ;)

Fixed up her eyes:

Still creepy, but not as much.
Rosie is sketched, I'll upload a pic of her later.

I can't see quite clearly because the picture somehow got downsized >.> but from what I can see, the above is definitely a lot better than the one you posted in the first post. Another thing to watch out for is the size of your eyes as one is obviously bigger than the other. Though anything that is closer to the viewer will appear bigger, her right eye is still larger than it needs to be/ or that her left eye needs to be bigger

I don't know how it got downsized :confused:
I'll watch out for the eye thing the next time I draw ^^;

Remember kids, experimenting is fun!
