Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Hey all! After seeing the success of TBTWC 2024, and how much fun everyone had playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, I figured I would try to bring back the friendly and competitive spirit of the event in an unofficial capacity. After all, we have some amazing MK8D racers on TBT!
To entice people to participate, I've included rewards below! Whether you choose to participate in a friendly or competitive session, there are TBT rewards for everyone!
The best part: The goal of this thread being created is to become a central hub for all Mario Kart racing done on TBT! The hosting will not just be done by one person. Anyone can host, just as anyone can race! If this thread is successful, then perhaps it could evolve to include more games.

- *Because otherwise I would run out of TBT quickly if handing out pure TBT every time, I'm offering 10 TBT of shop credit in my collectible shop every time a friendly or competitive session is attended. So yes, playing often could result in nice collectibles!
Reminder: Some of these Qs and As may only be valid for OP-hosted events.
Q. How do the leaderboards work?
A. There are 3 leaderboards. All of which any user can opt-out of. The Overall Leaderboard - the points you earn in every friendly and competitive session gets added to your total. The Ranked Leaderboard - the average placement you come in during all friendly and competitive sessions. The Time Trial Leaderboard - the fastest time for each course when doing a time-trial on 150cc.
Q. Can anyone host a session?
A. Yes! The more the better. The more people who host, the more time-zone friendly this thread can become. Simply express your interest in hosting and I'll add it to the Sessions list.
Q. What about rewards for competitive sessions not hosted by you?
A. Competitive rewards are at the discretion of the host and will be displayed under the Rewards column of the Sessions section.
Q. Where are the TBT rewards coming from?
A. They will be sent directly from OP after a session, not including any rewards another host may choose to do.
Q. Can I join a competitive session without submitting the entry fee?
A. Yes! You just won’t be eligible for the rewards if you place in the Top 3. That reward threshold would become void.
