Collection of Concerns and Complaints

✦ Since we know that the buildings/services unlocked depend on our progress of the Island, I'm worried that we'll be forced into unwanted development because things we want are locked behind things we don't want to build. I'm fine with the concept in general, but I really hope we'll have access to the majority of buildings and services while still preserving a natural/wild look in some areas.

I'm actually the most worried about this. One of the (many) reasons I stopped playing Pocket Camp was that I had to build a lot of stuff I didn't want to get the things I did. I don't want to have to "unlock" things this way. In fact, I'm afraid they're going to make it a lot like pocket camp in that you won't be able to have villagers move in until you befriend them a certain amount.

I would much rather let villagers move in naturally and as for PWPs, ss flawed as it is, I would rather wait for villagers to suggest them to me. I don't want to feel like I'm "working" in this game, if that make sense.

I'm really disappointed by the lack of new personality types. The ones we've got already get stale pretty quickly

I'm also kinda disappointed about this fact too. I wouldn't have mind it at all if they would have added
two more personalities, so that we have a total of 10 at the end.

I think the people who are worried about the map size aren't taking into account that what we saw was just a demo. They showed a lot that was going to be in the game, yeah, but it was also specifically for E3. And we've already seen stuff has been changed. It's not really that uncommon for companies to make a demo to show off. I don't think palm trees are going to be able to be planted anywhere but the beach since we haven't seen anything like that so far.. but I'm fine with it.

I would actually prefer for all of the shops to be somewhere besides the town.I don't even mind building them, I just don't want them taking space up in my town. Ideally, town hall would be the only building like that in my town because I think that anything else would take away from the small town vibe I try to go for in my AC villages.

I was really disappointed too about no new personality types. Hopefully though they might introduce new species of villagers to give the game something new. :)

Also, another concern of mine is that I really hope they still have bushes in the game. I know we have seen the ones next to our houses, but I would like it if they made a return so we can plant them anywhere on our islands. I mean, if they don't add them again in the game or any new ones, I guess that's fine too.

In agreement with everyone?s disappointment about the lack of new personalities!
Deeper personalities are more important to me, but I was still hoping for a new type or two. There?s a part of me that worries they?re keeping it at 8 because we?ll have a limit of 8 villagers per Island.

After hearing there won?t be new types, I?ve started questioning whether we?ll see any new species, or even just villagers in general, at all?I?m not too worried, but the doubt is there now ~.~

I'm concerned about that Giant Mushrrom we saw in the newsest teaser. I also do not like how you can plant whole trees and that they dont grow. It takes away some of the feel of real life from Animal Crossing in my opinion. I am also concerned about all the duniture being to much of the same as NL and HHD as the game so far looks kind of like a mix of those two.

I really hope that crafting won't be a major mechanic in the game as it's not my taste. I wouldn't mind doing it a few times but not when it's an absolute necessity on many occasions.

I really hope so too. I'm so used to buying things from shops and not crafting everything. I can understand some rare things being crafted, but I honestly hope the shops are brought back. It's so much easier and convenient to buy rather than look all day for the materials to make things.

We saw in the E3 trailer that you can still plant saplings and they grow like normal. It hasn't been removed. The newest trailer showed how to replant a tree, as in move an existing one. If you want additional trees, you'll have to grow them from saplings.

I'm hoping that the fact that they choose not to include any new personalities in NH means that they'll work more on the ones that were already in the previous games, so that villagers with the same personality don't all act exactly the same way.

That's what I hoping too, although I hope that in general they gonna rework all personalities and maybe
go "back to the roots" in New Horizons, as I really don't like way villagers acting in New Leaf. It feels like
as if they all kinda behave the same. Especially Cranky and Snooty villagers got watered down so much,
it's one of those things I hate about New Leaf so much to be honest. I do miss their sassy behavior from
the previous games a lot. Also they need to work on their dialogue, needs more variety.

Another concern I have is how easy it will be to make bells at the beginning but also later. And it also
seems that the house dept got more expensive? At least the one for the update from tent to house is
now much more expensive than in New Leaf?

Apart from the lack of game save options, and auto save, I have a few other concerns.

I miss the old inventory. This new one feels too much like PC, and is flat and one dimensional.

I don't think a mobile phone with apps is a good way to go with this series. It's the opposite of what the game is meant to be about, which is relaxation. Adding modern technology makes it feel wrong. Just wrong.

I don't care for the recipes or anything else from PC. If they add anything more then they should rename the game to Pocket Camp 2.0.

I worry that the game is too plastic looking. The paths are rounded and not natural.

I'm not sure on the flowers, how they leave something there, possibly a bulb so they can respawn, when you pick them.
It looks untidy. Like a weed.
Hopefully they can be dug out.

I worry about our role, and importance.
We aren't Mayor, and I don't think I could go back to being an underling.

I want to run things.

Another big concern is PWP's.
Are there any?
I can't imagine not having my lighthouse and other things. Simply dumping furniture outside isn't like have Stonehenge next to your house.

Lastly, a lack of things to do.
I hope there is a mainland to travel to, where you can shop. I also hope Tortimer Island and the tour games make a return.

wow y'all want lots of control in this video game

Not wanting to be too controlling here, but this was intended to be a thread to criticize the game, not how others enjoy playing it ;)

There's nothing wrong with a little bit of control in my opinion, these are just some things we would like and hope are either in the game or not. :)

I'm wondering if there is even a "mayor" aspect in the game anymore. Will we eventually work to become mayor? Or are they just completely getting rid of the idea?

Also, what will happen to Kapp'n? I think it might be weird to have another island to go to (to "get away") when we already live on an island. And will Tortimer still be in the game?

These aren't really concerns, but rather just me being curious.

I don’t like the design of some of the menus. Minimalist designs have been rising in popularity this decade, and I don’t like it because it feels soulless and makes it difficult to distinguish things since everything has been using it these days.

I don’t mind the Nook phone, as long as we don’t have to do every little thing through it.

I’m worried that holidays will be cut or given less focus. We’ve seen the snowflakes and snowballs in the Winter footage, so hopefully other seasonal events will stay as well despite the tropical island setting.

My biggest concern is furniture.
I absolutely doubt they will be remaking ALL furniture. What they've done up until NL is port all the furniture as is fron the previous games and add more.
This time it's different since they are remaking them to fit the new engine. It will take so much money and resources to work on every single item from the previous games, so I have fears we won't be seeing a lot of items.

Secondly, the menus look boring and just not good.

Thirdly, I hope they WILL add more personalities or at least make dialogue more interesting and not robotic as in NL. It felt to me as though villagers were all about giving me quests and nothing else to talk about.
