Comfort Character(s)?

- Do you have/had any comfort characters?
First thing that came to my mind was Waluigi lmao. besides him I would say my other comfort character is my OC Toucat!

- Why did you pick them?
tbh I didn't pick them, they picked me. when I was like 11-12 y.o. and I was obsessed w Super Mario stuff I actually didn't like Waluigi that much, but I think bc he's such a meme and hilarious in many ways he really grew on me. and as for the Toucat, I've made a lot of OCs but she's been my favorite for a really long time so ofc I'm really attached to her.

- How do they effect you?
well for starters I can't ever be upset when I'm playing as Waluigi in any game (or even Wario tbh). on New Years I was playing Mario Party Superstars w my brother and I always found myself laughing uncontrollably at how ridiculous he is in every way, from his nasaly voice to his lanky legs. I mean what's not to like??
and I guess the best way I can describe the Toucat is, I suppose I'm attached to her in a way that a child is attached to a certain stuffed animal or toy or whatever. I would actually love to have a plushie of her someday. like I know she's a made-up character but I feel like she's a big part of my life/identity and I just love her sm <33

Do you have/had any comfort characters?
I have a lot of comfort characters! The first ones to come to my mind were Chess Choco Cookie (from Cookie Run) and Ena (from Project Sekai). I talked about it in some other post before but for some reason a lot of my comfort characters also have short, brown hair.

Why did you pick them? How did they affect you?
I didn’t really “pick” them if that makes sense, somehow they just appealed to me a lot to the point where I started fixating on them, haha.

Chess Choco is a pair of chess-loving twins (Pawn White cookie and Pawn Black cookie) and I really love how they‘re always together! They hold hands while running and when they pop their skill, one rides on top of the others’ shoulders and it’s just the cutest thing ever ; -; I’m slightly biased towards Pawn White because they’re really expressive and cute, but they wouldn’t be half as entertaining without Pawn Black, so they really complement each other! Funny thing is that I hyperfixated on them when I started playing and it turns out they were meta? So I ended up beating some people in PvP even though I was a lower rank and started kinda later than them. My built Chess Choco cookie carried me a lot. I’m happy whenever my comfort characters turn out to be really good in-game.

Ena Shinonome is a character in Project Sekai and I fell in love with her simplistic, cute design. She’s artistic and she’s strong-willed, which I really love to see in a character, especially a female! She also seems a little mischievous at times, which is really cute. She also sings really well, I love hearing her cover songs with Nightcord. I don’t have a lot to say about her since I haven’t read her stories, but wow idk she resonated with me from the very beginning. I really love her cards, too! One of her cards is my wallpaper on my ipad, and I’m just really happy seeing her overall.

I don't know if this really applies, but I do enjoy writing. So I find comfort in the fact that I can write fun and engaging stories and then adding a cast that I do my best to make them believable and relatable. I've never actually posted my works anywhere and only one other person has read them besides me. It's sort of something we do and enjoy. It's kind of like a penpal relationship, but for story writing.

Kite from Hunter x Hunter has been a big one for me. I find I'm often drawn to the mentor character archetype. I need his energy but also I want to be him lol

Why did you pick them?
I had like a million to pick from but I picked them for a reason:

Kyo- Fruits Basket had a big effect on my mindset and how I see things. Watching Kyo feel so much guilt and pain throughout the series, especially since he was there for kyoko's death and that whole mess, it was so refreshing to see him grow and move past his mistakes. I also relate to tohru a lot in that show. So their relationship and pairing is something I can only dream of, lol
He's also very funny and cute, and I definitely feel his moody attitude sometimes, lol

Irene- She's a bit of a different story because I haven't played link between worlds in a hot second and it's more of a nostalgic type deal.
Link between worlds was the first LOZ game I played and finished in the series, and I hold it very close to my heart because its so fun and nostalgic. (Seriously underrated imo, please play it)
I loved Irene so much for many reasons:
1. Shes cool and iconic and I want to be her
2. She literally says she's the best of her generation like wow queen
3. She chooses to take link everywhere because she thinks green is her lucky color. Not only does she take him everywhere but she becomes his friend too
4. We need more opposite gender platonic relationships in media low key-
5.even when she is turned into a painting for being a seven sage THE BROOM STILL COMES WHEN YOU CALL IT AND IT STILL HAS THAT IRENE SPARKLE
How do they effect you?
Kyo's character development definitely helped me become more happy with myself and my mistakes as I tend to overthink everything I do. He's also a character in a show I can watch to cope when I'm feeling upset and stuff. Watching him interact with the zodiacs makes me happy.

Irene- she is literally my icon. Her witchy but fun and peppy aesthetic is something I aspire to emulate. Not to mention she's actually just so funny and cutesy. Her talking about her gram and all her hobbies and likes is just

- Do you have/had any comfort characters?

My user title is a dead give away, but I love Cosmog. Its presence in the story of Pokémon Sun and Moon was a great comfort during one of my depressive periods. I also love its pastel color scheme and cutesy face.

This one is hard to explain. Ever since I was a kid reading Nintendo Power I felt a strange connection to the Slime species from Dragon Quest. The smiley face and water droplet shape feel at home to me. I love the variants introduced in various games, but the basic slime is still my favorite.


- Why did you pick them?
I picked them because they evoke the same reaction out of me every time I see them. I also just like round things.

- How do they effect you?
They give me a sense of familiarity when I see them. It's like seeing how a good friend is doing after being away for a while.

- Why did you pick them?
Because they’re so cute and I love them!

Idk. I see them and almost instantly turn happy.

Why did you pick them?

It wasn't the matter of picking them.
I'm not entirely sure how I came to finding the anime he is in, but he is the only reason I ever watched the show, he's a fantastic character, yet is hardly shown as the support character that he is suppose to be.
Then again, this is a card fighting anime, so they don't really focus on most of the characters personality/traits etc.

I guess I really like him, because he's definitely the type of person you want as a friend. You are clearly shown how much he adores his friends and how he will go above and beyond to support them in any way possible.
I adore him so much, and feel like they need more love.

How do they effect you?

Again, I love them a lot. Like no matter what other characters I love in other shows/films; Miwa will be my top favourite.

And he also helps me out when stressed, I usually take the time to listen to music, and try and picture better told stories about him; because we don't get enough in the show.
He also helps me sleep, it helps me to focus on something while trying to fall asleep; otherwise tinnitus or something else mentally will affect me and I can't sleep properly; so thinking about him has helped me sleep easier.

I also find some good online friends who also adore him, so we get to connect via Miwa.

I have some, but the first ones that come to mind are Apollo, K.K. Slider (Animal Crossing), Hex, and Tabi (Friday Night Funkin').

Why did you pick them?
Honestly, I think I chose those four out of all AC/FNF characters 'cause they're my favorites. XP But strangely, I feel some sort of connection with them.

How do they effect you?
Every time I see any of those characters, I get excited. Like, thump-my-foot-rapidly-on-the-ground excited. I have wrote a lot of stuff of some of those characters, or have planned to. I've already made art of Hex and thinking of doing the same with Tabi.

I'm assuming you all know who Apollo and K.K. Slider are, so I'll put images of the other two characters instead.

Ash from Pokemon omg. When I was a little, I was OBSESSED with Ash. I even dressed up as him with stuff from around the house, like my dad's tennis shoes and cutting the fingers off my gloves. After watching Pokemon, I would walk around the house and tell stories out loud about me and Ash going on adventures. (Oral fanfiction? Lol) I think he and Speed Racer were my first crushes.... He's a source of nostalgia for me...and his energy is perfect.

The first one that comes to my head is Baymax from the Disney movie Big Hero 6

- Why did you pick them?

He's just a big squishy blob of cute and I just love him.

- How do they effect you?

I have seen Big Hero 6 many times since it's one of my favourite movies. Anytime I watch it and see Baymax, I just instantly feel happier and better if I'm having a rough day. So it's safe to say this is the movie I put on if I have had a crap day XD.

But I also feel like most Disney movies have a similar effect on me. Because it's Disney. Their movies make me feel safe and happy and I just zone out and enjoy it.

Also will just mention that my two favourite pokemon- Eevee and Snorlax have also become comfort characters for me. I love hanging out with them when I play Pokemon Legends Arceus.

- Why did you pick them?
i've been obsessed w/them for years and the character is super ****ing goofy and has a loud personality and that makes me feel good as a loud and annoying person
