Isabelle often mentions that she videochats with her parents during her announcements and I often hear villagers say stuff about them interacting with their parents as well. Heck, we even get letters from our Mom in the mail! I wonder if we will ever be able to learn more about these mysterious parents of our villagers or our own virtual mom as we have no idea what they look like xD It also makes me a teeny bit sad that everyone on the island is away from their parents/families although I guess all the villagers and the resident rep are a family in of itself :3
idk maybe im overthinking this...

I like to think of it as we're starting an island boarding school or a long term summer camp where we grow as friends and find our way through the unknown as we face obstacles and build a town together.

Is that too cheesy? 😂

I like to kinda "ship" villagers as family members. I think of Marina as like Octavian's daughter or smth, Poncho and Bluebear are cousins if not siblings, etc. So when the normal villagers talk about like their family that's what I think of sometimes. Otherwise I just kinda don't think much about it since AC has always been like this lol.

You might also be interested to know that the bear villager Ike canonically has a son, Poko, a cub villager who was in Animal Forest e+ and sadly has not returned.

Haha, Tom Nook as the laziest camp leader ever, flying us out to remote islands and going "Yes, that is the question" when you get bored and ask him what to do... Also, just pointing at the camper that looks the smartest and going "You are in charge now" to prevent too much chaos from happening while he sits around doing as little as possible.

It's going to be a veeery long summer camp, at least. Maybe my character's parents didn't even want him back. Just told him "You're going on vacation to a tropical island!" instead of "You belong to the raccoon now."

I do this! I have Diana and Beau on my island and I like to think that Beau is Diana's little brother.

I caught a conversation between them where Beau said he ripped one of his favorite shirt and Diana said she'd mend it for him. <3 And it just furthered my idea that they're siblings :D

wow, "you belong to the raccoon now" made me rethink everything, i guess it's true that he basically owns us lmao

It’s pretty cool I think. There’s lots of mentions of family in NH, like how CJ talks about how Flick and his dad do not get along very well, how obviously CJ is Chip’s son, Joan is Daisy Mae’s grandma and even villagers mention their families. Bones has talked about his grandpa and Eugene has talked about how his mom was in a surf rock group (which is oddly enough fits very well with his aesthetic, I like to imagine that his whole family is a bunch of rock music heads, it runs in the family haha).

Aren't Francine and Chrissy cannonically sisters?

I know normal villagers often reference their parents, too.

Yes! I don't know if they ever mention each other as sisters, but they have each other's photos in their houses.

I'd like to think some of the villagers are related... in my head.

Teddy and Murphy would make good brothers. Although Murphy would be the older one.

Other possible siblings could be Bluebear and Poncho or Kody. Zell and Lopez. Graham and Hamlet (the nerd and the jock).

Or Pierce and Celia as husband and wife.

I like the family background, but I don't think we'll get any more than we already have

I was actually thinking a bit earlier...it would be kind of cool if it turned out that your parents aren't actually human. Like...if they have this big reveal at some point, where you learn that your parents are actually animals as well...and you were fostered at birth.

I like it when normal/sweet villagers mention their parents during in-game dialogue. c:

And in NL, one of the questions for April Fool’s Day was to guess how many siblings a villager had so that’s a slight nod to them having parents as well.

Backstories for villagers are so fun to come up with, especially with NH where we can get burnt out on how repetitive certain dialogue can be. :3

I've kind of always wondered about Rolf and Bianca.

When I had Moe on my island, I always thought of him as Tom's grandson. Tom always lectured Moe
about being too lazy. I even saw Moe sweeping the plaza later that day. I figured that was the only way
to get grandpa Tom to stop yelling at him. :) That same cat who's sitting half the time you see him outside.
Practice what you preach, Tom!

I don't think of their parents much, but I love to think about the sibling aspect. Like I consider Bianca and Rolf as siblings. It helps that whenever I ask Bianca about a lost item she says it looks like something of Rolf's. You can actually find some very cute headcanon art by others of villagers' siblings if you look hard enough.

I’m sick of hearing Isabelle talking about video calling her parents. In fact, for the past month and abit as soon as she says “hmmmm there’s not rea-“ I just look away and spam A until I hear myself walk out my home. It’s almost like she’s not recycling the same 4 pieces of dialogue.

BUT I do like hearing my villagers reference their parents, especially recently a couple of them (mainly poppy and fauna) have been talking about either smelling something or doing something that reminds them of their dad so they want to call him🙂

I'm surprised Isabelle only mentions her parents and not her brother or any other siblings she may have. I don't think we'll ever see them, but I like when they mention family members.
