I've read a lot of great ideas from people here. Some of which I would absolutely love to see in the new game. But I highly, highly doubt that Nintendo actually asked/listened to AC players in what they would like to see in the next game. So it's really bittersweet to me reading all these great ideas here. Because most likely we won't see any of them. :/ Does anyone else fear that they will be disappointed/underwhelmed once the game is released? I was super excited for the new Mario party, but I was very underwhelmed. I'm afraid the new AC will be the same. I remember renting (yes...renting) the gamecube AC when I was 7 years old. It holds such a special place in my heart, I don't want to be disappointed.

Nintendo can't ignore every request or idea. If they did, people may stop playing AC.

I will say this now. IF we can't choose our skin tone, it's a deal breaker for me.

I know what you mean. It would be nice for my and everyone else's ideas to actually become a reality in the game, but of course, that would be near impossible for that to actually happen. Not to say that many people have very plausible ideas for the new game.

I can't speak for anyone else who actively participates in this forum, but I don't come up with an idea expecting to actually see it implemented in the game! I just like brainstorming and listening to people's ideas. It gives us all a chance to have fun and be creative.

Stay positive, It'll still be great! The trick is to go into this with the bar set so low that you can be happy with pretty much everything it offers.

That's something that has been added back in AC:Happy Home Designer and AC: Pocket Camp. They won't regress on this.

All of my ideas are pretty much things I don't expect at all but it would be fun to see. I basically just spout out what comes to mind. I'm gonna be happy with it no matter what happens really. I just really want ac on switch and I don't think it's going to revert in quality in any way. I think a lot of others feel the same way too.

I hope they go all out with the switch version
Imo if you play city folk for a bit, new leaf feels a bit mehh

It'll look amazing though, take a look at Mario kart.. I play on a gaming monitor and it looks amazing

The best is yet to come!

You won't be disappointed. You will have a lot of fun, make wonderful virtual / non-virtual friends, live great adventures (repay a loan is one of the biggest adventures of our century, right?).

Do not expect anything in particular except having fun, because you definitely will! :)

It's very unlikely nintendo will listen to player requests, especially on an english speaking forum that is not their actual feedback taking system. Nintendo can put out a damn good game but I think it's a bit silly to believe the ideas put into the game would come from here - and that's from someone who is very active in putting my wishlist of things I want on this site. That's all it is, a wishlist. It's a bit unwise to build expectations on wishlists on here that nintendo will most likely never see.

However, there are certain things that they've obviously received feedback on in the appropriate channels as well as en masse on sites like twitter - such as skin tone options.

I really wouldn't worry about it. We're just having fun coming up with creative ideas, even though it's highly unlikely that they'll get in. It's gonna feel weird if Nintendo were to actually take ideas from here because not everyone who plays Animal Crossing goes onto this forum.

I'm hoping the new game won't be like the last one, otherwise my mom and I aren't probably going to play it, but I believe it won't. I mean, this is a new generation of consoles, so the Switch AC game should be good. I'm hoping they will at least add some things from Happy Home Designer and Pocket Camp. If they do, I will definitely love the game, but like everyone else said, don't worry about it. I'm not going to.

yeah many things can go wrong with the new animal crossing.. ^^ we'll just have to wait and see what they'll reveal. still hopeful. whatever it may be atleast it's something.. lol (i realize my low expectations haha)

my biggest concern is that their idea of a graphical upgrade is making the player character taller, like yokai watch and pokemon did.. also that the world is flat, like in old animal crossing games, instead of the curved map as in new leaf which i much prefer..

tbh tho mario party games haven't been exactly good in a while.. I guess they tried a bit more this time, but yeeeaaah.. ^^;; atleast it looks nice....... .. ... ... ^^;;

Ever since ND Cube has been responsible for the Mario Party series, it has suffered tremendously. The worst being Mario Party 10 on Wii U. Super Mario Party isn't all that good but it sure is better than 9 and 10. Not to mention ND Cube has been responsible for Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival, a game with such a lightweight concept, I'm surprised Nintendo okayed its release. At the same time, Nintendo really wanted to sell these Animal Crossing amiibos. That's a stain on Nintendo's reputation right there : favoring purely economical goals to the reputation of one of its main franchise and the overall quality of its catalog.

Tbh I enjoyed BoTW but overall I was a little disappointed, so I see what you mean. It's really hard for me to even speculate about what the game will be like, though, beyond the feeling that the HHD way of designing will be incorporated. I don't play Pocket Camp so I have no idea what, if anything beyond basic items, they'll take from there.

Mostly I'm just waiting for more information, and even then I won't really know until I get the game.

Of course no one can be sure of how it will be, but I have the strong feeling we won’t be disappointed and many great surprises await us! I mean even just in pocket camp and HHD there are so many good things that implemented in a proper new AC game can make the game sooo much better. And that’s just a little part. I’m sure they’re will be new exciting features that we have not even the slight idea about. Ah I being too optimistic? Yes definately. But one can dream! XD and they took so many years to announce this, and I hope they learned from some little mistakes of the past, that I’m pretty sure this new game will be the best ever in the franchise

I'm not gonna lie to you, I feel pretty close to this. I have no doubt that it'll be great, but I don't usually like to watch prediction videos for this reason: getting my hopes too high. Like, wow that would be awesome! I can't wait! Then instead they have other plans. Not bad ones, but possibly not the ones we got excited over.

The skin color doesn't affect me in the slightest since I'm white, but I've always wanted a skin slider since the original animal crossing. There are so many different kinds of players, they should be able to represent themselves without being forced to tan.

I have a horrible feeling they might do what they did with City Folk and basically just remake New Leaf, but change a few things. Obviously it'll be HD, but based on the little we've seen from the Direct we know that the Town Hall might pretty much look the same.

The town hall thing concerned me too but I have a feeling that was just supposed to be representative of the town hall in New Leaf. You know, so Isabelle could move from that town hall to Smash. It may not have been hard to just clean up the assets from New Leaf just for that little trailer and then ditch them afterwards.

That was my thought too. They just used the town hall for the announcement. I have to say that the character models for Isabelle and Nook are amazing. Makes me extremely excited for the Switch release!
