Hello!

NH was my first pandemic purchase in early March and I've been playing the last few months, but am new here today! I decided to join because I am getting raked across the coals on my turnips this week and want to learn about my (non-sketchy) options. The TC says I'm doomed for big loss...whomp whomp. I appreciate the community you've all built and look forward to learning about how it works so I can participate in a meangingful way. Which means I'll be reading for the rest of the afternoon 😊

I hope everyone is finding something to help them cope during the global chaos we're facing ❤

Hey, welcome to TBT! I'm honestly not sure how I would have made it through all this craziness without NH to keep me grounded, so I totally understand where you're coming from on that front.

Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions about the game or the site - I think you'll find that the community here is very friendly and eager to help, at least for the most part. We're happy to have you. :)

Thank you so much, I really appreicate the warm welcome! Just poking around I can see I have a lot to learn. I'm happy that I delayed getting involved in an online community because just when I thought I had a good grasp on NH, I was able to jump down the online rabbit hole and now it's a whole new world again! Thanks again!

Yo, if it makes ya feel better I’m supposed to have a spike tomorrow morning! If I can remember (I don’t have the best memory) I can let ya in. Welcome to TBT!

Thank you so much! You know, it was only a few hours on this site before I already was on someone's island for the first time and now I'm a millionaire! Haha, I appreciate the offer though, thank you so much!

No problem! I usually use turnip exchange for when I have free-fall prices, but everyone here is cool with this sorta thing. We all tend to pay it forward here.

Hey, quick question about tipping etiquette! When someone says free but accepting tips, what are some examples of appropriate tips? Thanks so much!

Every time I see the title, I have to chuckle. My initials are NH and I have to cope with me every day lol

OMG did you play neopets? From your profile picture  I was obsessed as a kid

And welcome! I also got ACNH because of the pandemic and I'm happy to have found this website. Feel free to reach out if you need anything

Thank you so much!! Bahaha yes I did, I was obsessed as well! I had completely forgotten about it until the other day...I scoped it out - ITS STILL GOING! 😂 Very nostalgic!

Omg, that profile picture 😍 That's exactly what my very first neopet looked like... I kinda miss them

For turnips, this depends entirely on the player and how much profit they're making but also what they're willing to part with. I've been tipped anywhere between 10k and 500k bells. Both are fine! Obviously anything above 10k is very generous, but that doesn't mean I didn't appreciate the smaller tips.

For normal trades, I think what I usually ended up with was anywhere between 10 and 99k, usually not more.

It's all fine though! If tips are appreciated, you just tip what you want. (Or not at all.) It really just depends on what you are willing to miss at that moment because it's the gesture that counts. And if you're not rich, then really, don't bankrupt yourself on something that the other player could probably do without. :)

Welcome to TBT! When someone says free and accepting tips it is really up to you! The most common tip I have seen for going to others to sell turnips is to leave 10% of the profits you made selling turnips there (ex. you make 100k off turnips on their island, you could leave a 10k tip).

Welcome to the site I would have gone crazy if the new animal crossing game had not come out when it did
