Cosy Photo Challenge [Closed Til Next Time!]

Seven real-life photo challenges will be available throughout the Fair! Be sure to check in regularly to snap a photo according to the current prompt. Participation tickets are awarded every round. You could even nab a spot as staff favorite and earn the dazzling Shooting Star Collectible. However, each task may not be so simple...

How to Play

---

• Every Sunday and Wednesday at 7:00 PM Fair Time (EDT) from August 16th through September 6th, a new photo challenge will be posted in this thread.
• Once you've assembled your items with a picture perfect setup, please post the image in this thread! You cannot edit or change your submission once submitted, so be sure you're satisfied with the final product.
• Entries that do not comply with the rules & requirements will be PM'd separately. Please send me a revision within 24 hours in order to be eligible for participation tickets.

Rules & Guidelines

---

• Every entry must include a name card clearly labeled with your Bell Tree username. You can submit one photo without the name card, and a second with your name card in the same post.
• Unless otherwise stated, only submit one photo as your entry. No multiple photos to show off different angles. If submitting an image with and without the name card, the photo without the name card is the one that will be judged.
• Entries must be unedited, and cannot be changed once submitted.
• Low effort entries and photos that are difficult to read such as extreme blurriness will be rejected.
• Any additional requirements will be included in each separate official prompt post with their respective deadlines.

The Challenge

Spoiler: Challenge 1: August 16 - August 19

Pack your slumber party necessities!

Starts Sunday, August 16 and ends Wednesday, August 19 at 6:59 PM FT.

Requirements:

• A set of pajamas.
• An item to hold all of your belongings.
• At least three other items.
• A brief description of your necessities and why you'd bring them to a TBT sleepover.

Spoiler: Challenge 2: August 19 - August 22

Build a blanket fort!

Starts Wednesday, August 19 at 7:00 PM FT and ends Saturday, August 22 at 6:59 PM FT.

Requirements:

• At least two pillows.
• At least two of either blankets/comforters/sheets.
• The fort should have an obvious structure. If the construction is falling apart, it probably won't be accepted!
• Two photos will be accepted for this prompt.
  • Required: Full outer view of the fort
  • Optional: Close up of inside the fort
• You must be able to fit at least one person comfortably inside the fort.

STAFF FAVORITES FOR WEEK 1

Spoiler: Challenge 3: August 23 - August 26

Create a villager self-care box!

Starts Sunday, August 23 at 7:00 PM FT and ends Wednesday, August 26 at 6:59 PM FT.

Requirements:

• A box, basket, or other similar container.
• At least five other items.
• Include 3-4 sentences on why these items are specifically chosen for this villager. Think color schemes, hobbies, interior themes, their dreams and aspirations, etc! Low effort passages will be rejected.

Spoiler: Challenge 4: August 26 - August 29

Stage an activity in action among friends!

Starts Wednesday, August 26 at 7:00 PM FT and ends Saturday, August 29 at 6:59 PM FT.

Requirements:

• At least 2 friends. Your "friends" can be stuffed animals, dolls, figurines, pets, etc. If you really don't have any of those you can cut something out as long as it's easily identifiable as someone/thing participating in the game or activity (e.g. a celebrity face cut out).
• You don't need to be in the photo, but you can share parts of yourself for the photo doing the action (e.g. showing your hands painting your nails).
• The image should be capturing yourselves in the middle of the activity, not as "before" or "after."
• Enter a caption with your photo.

STAFF FAVORITES FOR WEEK 2

Spoiler: Challenge 5: August 30 - September 2

Prepare a midnight snack pack for me and you!

Starts Sunday, August 30 at 7:00 PM FT and ends Wednesday, September 2 at 6:59 PM FT.

Requirements:

• At least one type of food; serving for two.
• At least one type of beverage; serving for two.
• Please arrange the late night food as if it's about to be eaten! The contents should not all be in its packaging.
• Do not use a full-blown meal or dish such as something you'd have for dinner at a restaurant.

Spoiler: Challenge 6: September 2 - September 5

Share your favorite cosy space!

Starts Wednesday, September 2 at 7:00 PM FT and ends Saturday, September 5 at 6:59 PM FT.

Requirements:

• This space can be wherever you are most comfortable around your home such as your bedroom, computer desk, reading nook, backyard, etc.
• Include a short passage on why this is your loved cosy space.
• Do not use a public spot such as a park, cafe, etc.
• Do not re-use your blanket fort image.

Spoiler: Challenge 7: September 6 - September 9

Take a photo of a cloud that looks like... that thing!

Starts Sunday, September 6 at 7:00 PM FT and ends Wednesday, September 9 at 6:59 PM FT.

Requirements:

• Do not submit photos for this prompt until September 6, 7 PM Fair Time (EDT). Task is available early to give everyone a chance to go out to catch some sun at their convenience during these times. Early submissions will be removed.
• The cloud must be recognizable, and can be anything. A number, an animal, a specific person's face, etc, except basic shapes (circle, square, rhombus, etc) or things that clouds look like anyway (cotton candy).
• Caption your photo with what the cloud is supposed to be. If it's difficult to visualize, you'll need to provide a version with an outline.

Alternative prompt is available for those who are affected by wildfires/smoke. Those using the alternate prompt are not eligible for staff favorite since the criteria is slightly different.

A cluster of branches, leaves, bushes, or an entire tree. Send us a photo of that plant that looks like... that thing!

Requirements:

• Provide proof of your weather/environmental conditions by taking one sky photo with your name card.
• The plant (tree, bush, leaves, or branches) must be recognizable, and can be anything except basic shapes (circle, square, rhombus, etc), things that those plants look like anyway, or other vague items (e.g. a bush looks like a cloud).
• Do not use flowers.
• Caption your photo with what the plant is supposed to be.
• If it's difficult to visualize, you'll need to provide a version with an outline.

Heads up! Challenge 7 may be tough for those who can't make it outside during these times in real life. This prompt is available early so there's ample time to at least take a look outside your window these next few weeks.

Does the cloud in the banner remind you of anything? Let's see what you can find. Take a photo of a cloud that looks like... that thing!

Requirements:

The entry post seems to imply that they're looking for real life submissions (with the cloud post in mind), but I wonder if it would be possible to submit both? I know some people may have privacy concerns with posting aspects from their real life on an open forum such as this one, and it would be nice to have the option to do either.
(or for example, to make a 'fantasy' collage by compiling a group of real life images found online and snapped by others)

Hi, sorry only real photos only! We have another event here for in-game screenshots. Unfortunately, using images that are not your own is also not possible for this event, which is why we request a name card as proof. It would be unfair to everyone else as images online can always be modified or manipulated to appear amazing that no one who uses their actual resources at home could compete with. A collage concept is a great idea though that could be used in a future event!

- Some comfy, yet mismatched pyjamas
- A compact, blue backpack to carry everything in
- A Porter plushie, to help scare away the monsters that may or may not be lurking underneath my sleeping bag
- A good mystery novel, which may or may not have been creepy enough to create some of those monsters (it's James Patterson's Private Paris, if any of you are curious)
- Chocolates to share with all of you lovely people (and the monsters)

Here's my entry! Here's the reasons for each item:

• Abominable Snowman Onesie: My PJ's! I chose these one's in particular because they're soft and cute, and fit the theme of "Animal" Crossing.
• Airpods, with a RJ themed cover: I would use my Airpods to listen to my favorite songs at the sleepover, participating in karaoke if everyone else if down! I chose this cover as it also fits the "animal" theme that I would think a TBT sleepover party would have.
• Pokeball Mug: There's nothing I love more than having some hot chocolate while relaxing at a chill sleepover. c:
• Grey Backpack: Chosen to hold all my stuff! It's not the cutest, but it surely has a lot of room to carry all the stuff I need!
• Pikachu Pillow + Rowlet Plush: To rest my head on and cuddle with, respectively, once things start to wind down. Chosen because it is animal-themed, cute and because it's Nintendo related!
• Tortilla Blanket: To cover myself in once we go to bed at the end of the party! Chosen because it's my favorite blanket, and the idea of wrapping myself up like a burrito and the end of a long night sounds wonderful!

I had fun with this contest, looking forward to the next prompt!
