So before anyone gets offended please bear with me...
I just want to say that I have nothing against TT’ers.
This is AC and I believe it’s the sort of game that should be played however you want - I’m also grateful to TT’ers who ran cycling towns during the NL era and helped me acquire many of my dreamies…
However; I was wondering whether it’s possible that the villager glitch could be caused by TT’ing.
In all the cases I have read about so far, people had TT’d back and forth between dates (like they’d TT forward to check if the villager moved in then TT back to the current date and so forth).
I have also noticed that unlike in the other Animal Crossing games, TT’ing doesn’t seem to be an in-built game function. Isabelle doesn’t actually confirm with you anymore if the time and/or date are correct so in order to change those, you must actually go into the Switch’s system settings and change them manually.
Now, to a casual player who is not familiar with the franchise, this would probably not even be an apparent option.
Anyway, I have no idea if this theory holds any ground. I don’t know anything about coding but was just wondering if the game’s inner clock could somehow be out of sync with the Switch’s clock which could cause potential issues such a “null” villagers moving in, housing exteriors not changing, etc.
If anyone who has never TT’d experienced this glitch, then obviously it’s something else altogether.
But if it is due to TT’ing then perhaps the fix could be simpler on Nintendo’s part.
Just curious what your thoughts on this are.
