Crazy Redd is never around! :(

So it's been, like, two weeks, and Crazy Redd hasn't shown up. My daytime schedule doesn't give me a lot of time to play between 10-6, which I think is when he's normally around. But this is getting pretty annoying, especially since I only have a few art pieces in my museum so far.

Is there a way to set the days he shows up? That would make things a lot easier and I wouldn't always have to worry about missing the times when he's open for business.

If you notice when Redd is in your town and is closed just time travel a few hours back so you can make your purchase. You won't loose anything .

everyday there is a random chance you get a visitor. there is no way to "set" when he comes :/
I only get him about every 1-2 months so there isnt really much of a problem. if you're really having trouble finding art go to the retail forums, lots of shops have genuine art for sale.

I get Saharah, Gulliver & Redd pretty much every week. If Redd is in your town, but closed, TT back to before 6pm and go get yourself a piece of art.

i have had the game for 8 days now, and i've only seen Redd's tent in my plaza once. i think it was last friday?

(the day before there was another tent with some lady fortune teller who told me to look for some item that would bring me good luck!)

btw, is there any way to get a good close look at the paintings and art that Redd is selling? becoz i read he sells fakes and i want to look very closely to make sure they are real before buying. but no matter what i did i couldn't really zoom in or anything so in the end i just bought it and got lucky it wasn't a fake. (would the museum know if i'm donating a fake?)

The museum will know if you're trying to donate a fake, and you'll have to pay Re-Tail to dispose of it. The way to zoom in--it doesn't get very close, but it's better than nothing--is by pressing up on the D-pad (the + shaped one).

There are a lot of guides online which tell you what the fakes look like and how to tell them apart from real art. Here's the one I use:

Same problem here, when I first got the game he showed up pretty much every other day, and then once I forgot to buy a painting from him and haven't seen him since. I like to think that he was disappointed that I didn't get something, lol

He's in my town today, but I already have the only thing that is genuine, the gallant statue.

I always take anything I get from my villagers (they will sometimes sell you paintings) to my house to inspect. If they are genuine (per my ACNL app) I take it to the museum or sell it. If not, it goes straight into the trash can.
