Crossgate (Roleplay)

Continuing my shift, I post the last of the signs on the walls. It reads:

Mindy "Minerva" Nelson
Charged with theft and mass destruction
Trial held tomorrow at 5:00 PM.

(Welcome back.)

I walk around bored as I eat some crisps until I notice a police man put up a poster on the wall. Huh? I read it and my eyes widen as I take a potato chip.... And eat it! I turn to the policeman and snap at him. "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!" I shout pointing at the sign.

(Oh. My. God.)

"Uh, a criminal is being put on trial," I muster nervously. "Y-you can attend, if you'd…like…"

"You bet I will!" I shout at him angrily.

(I'm aware.)

I cringe, and leave quickly.

I finish eating the crap they have at the jail. After solitary confinement, I'm definitely starting to think I've done my part here, and if I escape, I'll be able to move off here and move to the other parts of the empire. I smirk at the thought.

(I don't know what really to do.)

I stomp around town. What should we do about this? Should I break her out? Should I just wait till the trial or what? I question as I scoff down my crisps. Nomnomnom.

(Good idea. Do that.)

~Time skip~

I wake up on my bench surrounded in crisps. I think I have a food hangover... I sit up. Crap, the trial is starting soon. I jump up and head there.

I see Levy in the audience with her guns and smile at her as the judge speaks. When he asks me to give my testimonial, I go up to the podium.

"Ever since my parents were killed by the government for a peaceful protest, I've always believed the government was corrupt. That's what led me to criminal life. I live to be a rebel, but not for the sake of rebelling. I know the difference between right and wrong, and what we are being run by is wrong on all levels. Taking people's land by force, executing innocents like my parents, it's horrific. If you knew what was right, you would change your ways and let me go."

I give a brief grin back before she gives her speech and I eat my crisps.

After the speech I feel like shouting out and agreeing, but remain queit to remain hidden in the crowd. I give a brief nod and wait for the judge’s response, so I stuff my face again.

"OBJECTION!"
"Your objection sir?"
"Our government is working perfectly. Our methods may be extreme sometimes, but we have a peaceful society because of it."
"For the upper class, yes. But I know the other side. It's how I live, and it's absolutely disgusting," I say to the governor. "Open your eyes. Don't be a sheep."

"YEAH, DO YOU THINK HAVING TO SLEEP ON PARK BENCHES OR IN THE GUTTER IS PEACEFUL YA LYING PACKS OF ****!" I blurt out, then cover my mouth and instantly regret my outburst. Crap, LEVY YOU MORON YOU SAID THAT OUT LOUD! I duck down and hide in the crowd in attempt they don't notice me.

"She's right, though. You don't know what we go through daily. And what you call a problem is when your maid doesn't dust even the smallest corner of your house!" I say.
"Calm down, Ms. Nelson-"
"I WON'T calm down until this problem is solved! And the only way it can is if the monarchy disappears!"
