Cutting down the number of villagers?

Obviously not with an axe. I'm asking if there is a way decreasing the number of villagers in your town to make room for newcomers. I've currently got 10... Is there a way I can go back to say 7 or 8 villagers?

In addition, what can I do to get a villager move out my town quickly?

I heard someone say that once you have 10 villagers one will try to move out? Like the game only wants you to have 9 villagers most the time. Other than that I'm not too sure :L

When you have 9-10, someone will ask to move.

When you have 8 or less, someone will move in.

Depends I think. So like, if someone moves out on day one you'd have to get someone to move in the day after or someone else will move in on the next day, two days after the move.

Merry's a cutie ^u^ You can get 10th villagers from other people/campsite and streetpass. So if you have 9 villagers and 1 place is reserved for a dreamie turn off streetpass~

This is only for the 10th villager. The 9th villager will be replaced automatically whether you like it or not.

If you don't care which villagers move out, TT like 10 days. Someone will definitely move out by then, or someone will ping you asking to move out.
