DLC would include items to help you that you'd have to pay with a special currency earned through progress or cash

☪︎Sanrio:☪︎ If the six that were introduced in NL:WA are available without Amiibo scanning...
They could possibly add:

The items from collections listed above may not come from new villagers designed especially for Sanrio but may come from limited fortune cookies in the form of DLC - which could be promotional or to be purchased.

There could be many more items but I wanted to use this as an example...

I'm not saying you'd have to part with money to gain DLC items since items in NL were obtainable via the Post Office I just think they've made a more fun and creative experience for us to obtain them. Although, there may be a couple of things that would cost such as Amiibo cards etc... But I'm hoping things that cost RL money are limited to a minimum. _:,(? ཀ`」 ∠︎):_

An expansion pack for the game? Sure.
Brand new villagers that were not removed from the game to be added in later? Sure, but include that in an expansion.
New holidays and events that weren't thought of until later? Okay, but same as above.
Outfits and furniture? Same as above; include it in an expansion of sorts.

But premium currency, fortune cookies (that are not bought with strictly in-game currency), or single outfits without a good reason... Those are all big nos from me.

You wouldn't have to pay money.

Premium cookies would cost Nook Miles or coupons like Meow coupons. They're premium because you have to work hard through progess to collect points as they're added gradually so it'll take time to save. Paid DLC will inevitably happen but won't affect gameplay since it's an added extra and the game you buy is complete! ☆

what do you mean by paid dlc will inevitably happen? im still team dont think theyll do any paid dlc. its sort of evident in them specifying how transfer will not be allowed from pocket camp, how similar events may take place in game instead so you can acquire the same furniture for no extra cost, etc.

I don't want it to cost RL money but eventually, in the future, I see it happening and costing RL money.
I'm on team - promotional DLC so we can get cute and awesome items from games and brands we love for free because they're promoting! I'm treading very carefully (๑˃ ‸ ˂๑)

Also I'm pro - Nook Miles, coupons and coins. I work really hard for them so they're premium to me.

I think some sort of DLC is inevitable when you factor in that it could be......what......about another 10 years before we see another mainline Animal Crossing game.

Also ( ･᷄-･᷅ ) I totally forgot to mention in my post that it says it on the box that transactions within the game are possible. So this isn't something I'm campaigning for so if anyone feels anger towards me, please don't be angry with me since I'm not a fan of paying for things. I'm poor and I can't even afford to buy the game, let alone the console... ₍ᐢ⸝⸝› ‸ ‹⸝⸝ᐢ₎
Plus, I don't work for Nintendo so I have no say over the matter, I just have ideas and premonitions... If I worked for Nintendo, I wouldn't be on here, I'd be playing the game and wouldn't be poor... (⁄⁄ٱ ◠︎ ٱ⁄⁄)

i really like ur idea of getting fortune cookies through nook miles and meow coupons. i know for a fact i barely used my meow coupons after seeing all the initial vans and they are just sitting wasting away, so it would be good to use them on something. also that way people have the choice to access these other fortune cookies, simply through work they've put in the game. i love it when the game rewards you for all your hard work

In case it might put some people's worry at ease.. The game is being sold in Belgium & The Netherlands, so there is no possibility for randomised micro-transactions because of the laws there. Basically it means that any in-game purchases should be transparent to who is purchasing them, so basically you'll know exactly what you're getting & what you're getting won't be left up to chance. So that takes away the possibility of fortune cookies.
