When I use this forum on my phone I get it in dark mode. I really love the looks of it (and to be honest; my eyes likes it too) and I was wondering if it's also possible to get that when using this site on a pc? And if not is there maybe a possibility to get this option maybe in the near future?

Edit: For anyone using Chrome or Firefox please search the Dark Reader add-on to get a dark mode here ;)
If there are any add-ons for other browsers please share it here and I will add it to this post.

how did you get it like that if i can ask

My phone has a dark mode option which makes almost everything in Dark Mode except some apps. (And there is also an option in your configuration to force dark mode in apps so everything is dark, but that doesn't work very well).
It's an Galaxy S20+ so not sure if and how it works with iPhones.

Sorry it's in Dutch but it's the icon with the moon on the left.

bruh that's amazing. I only have a Galaxy S7 so my phone doesn't do that but I really wish it did.

I know the staff said they were gonna bring back the night/day transitions but couldn't they at least bring it back in its "alpha" form? Like at least make it so that it's dark at night and it's light during the day. looking at this forum in constant daylight mode can be really straining.

Haha yes the bright background really can hurt your eyes after a while :') But even if it's too much work to do a transition depending on the (local) time it would be just nice to get an option or button to select dark or light mode so you can switch yourself. Not sure but that does sound a lot easier.

I highly suggest to anyone to put their phone into night mode or get an app that blocks out blue light. I use it on everything now and it makes day themes hurt less.
Edit: I use it all day. At first it's weird because it's more orange but once you get used to it and then go back, it almost blinds me.

Yes but that's a lot harder to do on pc :)

Ok so I was looking for some extensions/add-ons. I don't know which browser everyone uses, but I use firefox and found the "Dark Reader" add-on.

It makes this forum a lot better to look at :D It even has some sliders to change the contrast, brightness, sepia and some more options.

I just downloaded this on Chrome and it's a huge life-saver! thank you so much for sharing!!

Haha no problem ;)

Maybe if other users here know any add-ons for other browsers like Chrome, Safari (do they have add-ons?) or Internet Explor.... no I don't think anyone uses the last one. Just share them here so anyone can enjoy the forum without getting blind at night 🤣

Edit: ah it is also available on Chrome. Thanks for letting me know @xSuperMario64x :)

Just downloaded dark reader, everything looks so much nicer *o*
thanks for the recommendation!

sadly my phone's dark mode doesn't force most websites to use dark mode, but I do use night light to help out a bit c:

Yesss, I do this and now I can't do anything on my phone unless I have the filter on. I use f.lux religiously as well (unless I'm drawing bc I need my colors to be accurate) and it really does help my eyes a lot.

Weird, I have Galaxy S20+ too and the same option turned on, but the forum is "normal" for me.

Hmmm strange.... normally it should just do the trick 🤔 can't find anything in the options of the dark mode function to change either.
