Good afternoon, everyone. Today, Storrs finally returned to normal and I could relax after all the special-event and birthday madness of the past week. So I threw on a casual outfit, grabbed my tools and set out to enjoy the day at my own pace.
Didn't have any mail today, probably because I didn't get time to talk to my villagers much yesterday what with hunting for eggs all day. Whitney was home, so I walked nextdoor to see her. As I feared, she had set the Kiddie Bookcase out in her room.

It doesn't look as bad as I thought it would, but it's still kind of glaring. To be honest, I really can't ascertain any particular theme at all in Whitney's house. I mean, she has sporty items strewn among some classic/vintage pieces. I must give her credit for placement, though. As opposed to, say, Lolly's house, her room contains plenty of items while still leaving room to breathe.
After staying my welcome I saw myself out and headed north toward the campsite. On my way, I noticed that my cherry blossom trees were fully grown, the grass has turned to a deeper shade of green, and the azalea bushes are beginning to bloom.

Yes, this picture was taken later in the day, after I'd changed my hair. x)
While taking my leisurely stroll through town, I ran into Fang and asked him what was up. He told me that he'd like a new piece of furniture to replace his Classic Sofa, which I wasn't at all sure about considering he has a significant number of classic pieces in his room. The Classic Sofa is a different color form the rest, which I've never understood, so I may order him another 2x1 classic piece before the day is done.
Just below, I saw Wart Jr. on the brick bridge and decided to take a moment to talk to him as well. Right after I began, Chief ran over and I ended my conversation with Wart Jr. to see what he wanted. Turns out, my villagers are also noticing the profound effects of spring.

Pointing out that "change is in the air," he said he was thinking about leaving Storrs and "turning over a new leaf in a new plot o' land." I see what you did there, Chief. But no, I begged him not to go, and he stayed just because I was the one to ask him to.
Then I talked to Wart Jr. again to apologize for cutting him off abruptly earlier. He said he was getting excited for the fishing tourney, and he was ready to show off his skills. Later on, I bumped into Becky. I noticed that she changed into the Dual Champs design, after having telling me just yesterday how glamorous her Noble Shirt made her look. She asked me to buy her Pothos for 1,040 bells which I felt was a ripoff, and really didn't care about pleasing her so I turned her down.
Just beyond, I spotted Deirdre walking around in front of her house, and she told me that she had gotten something Lolly had asked for and asked me to deliver it to her. Since Lolly was literally right next door, I figured she was probably never going to do it and agreed to help her out. Fortunately Lolly was in her house so I didn't have to go far. And as it turned out, the Dual Champs design has started spreading all over town. She was wearing it, too. However, the present turned out to be a Spade Tee that Lolly was excited to get and promptly changed into. She asked me how it looked, and I told her it looked great, even though I really thought it looked slightly better than average. She gave me an Astro TV in return, and I found Deirdre outside to tell her that the delivery had been successful.
Having another chat with Lolly, she suggested that we play a trading game and I acquiesced. She said she wanted to trade her No. 23 Shirt for my Sapphire, and though 23 IS my favorite number...I concluded that since I already have one, it wasn't a good trade.
At the Roost, things went well. Chief was in first, and I prepared to serve him his favorite. When I gave it to him, he said that I used the wrong kind of beans, and then I remembered that he likes blend coffee, not mocha. I'm sorry, Chief, I totally knew that. I'll get you right next time!
Fang was next, and since he likes the same kind of coffee as Chief I could redeem myself. I made sure to grab the blend roast and added three sugars and lots of milk.
Monique came in third, and I was glad to be able to meet another cat. I don't think she'd be the kind I'd want around all the time, though. She requested no milk, which I thought was odd for a cat, but obeyed and refrained from adding sugar as well. I guessed she might like mocha, but apparently that's not what she prefers.
Pete was last, and recalling only having served him once, I knew that he didn't like blue mountain coffee or one sugar, but that he did like the regular amount of milk. I gave him a Kilimanjaro with three sugars this time, neither of which was to his liking.
And that's it for a rather slow day in Storrs, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
