Do you use Nook Mile Tickets for Villager Hunting or Getting Materials?

I use to island hop for materials, but after I started regularly time traveling, I've saved all my NMTs purely for villager hunting. Still haven't found Cyd yet haha.

Keep going, he’s worth it! I love my cranky punk Elephant, he deserves more recognition!

I just use NMT for villager hunting now. I traded hard in the early days of Nookazon so my storage has a lot of tickets stashed.

Villager hunting. Early on I also collected materials from the islands when I went villager hunting but I have so much in storage now I don't bother.

Right now both, but usually just for villager hunting. I just restarted so I don't have a lot of Nook miles, I waited until I had enough for 5/7 tickets so that I could increse my chances of finding a villager I like while also looking for bamboo island. But in my previous game there was no need to travel for materials, I gifted fruit so I didn't need to craft everyday, and appart from wood I could just get materials by looking for the money rock everyday, which accumulated over time so I rarely ever ran out.

To be honest, I haven't had much luck with Nook Miles tickets in terms of villager-hunting. I'm expecting to rely on the online feature to get any of the characters I want.

True, I also got most of my previous villagers through online trading. The long repetitive dialogue also makes hunting via mystery islands very tedious. Right now I'm challenging myself to not do any online trading, so instead I'm forced to do very short hunts and adopt villagers I otherwise couldn't consider (but also I have a few amiibos, just in case).

(not related but if you're still looking for Marshal he's on my island right now, I can let you know when he moves out, if you want him).

Villager Trading is just not worth it, because throughout my experience, trying to get an empty plot is a real pain and then when you want to get the villager you want from the seller they take so long to respond. When Hours go by they never responded. I only had a few good villager trades that well when I got Raymond and when I got Cherry, but other than that most of it has just been a long tedious wait and by the time the seller does get to me they tried to scam me, but I made sure to save myself the trouble to not get fooled.

This is probably just personal preference but I would rather do Nook Mile Villager hunting than trying to wait hours for a seller to give me the villager that I am looking for. These days they only focus on the more popular villagers they sell and not so much ones that are less popular which makes them hard to find.

It's a shame you had those experiences. I've personnally never had issues with scammers on this website. It's true trading can take time, but it's understandable since a seller might live in a different timezone, or they might have a job or school to attend.

Yeah and because the game is so restrictive on what you can do in days is where villager trading gets complicated, because you need to have an empty plot on the same day that the villager on their is moving out on their island, which can make it hard for those who don't time travel.

In the beginning, I used them for both villager hunting and getting materials. I didn't really enjoy villager hunting because it took so long to find them, but I wanted most of the new villagers which didn't have amiibo so I tried to find some of them and I did find a few. I ended up trading for a couple of the villagers on Nookazon and now I just use them for getting materials.

I use them for both, but most of the time it will be for villager hunting. I use them from time to time to get more materials if I’m running low, which isn’t too often, but I’m sure once my new island is up and running, I’ll definitely be needing more.

I use them for both. When you want to just fish, it is so handy to go to an NMT island because you can fish for a long time without needing bait.

I do enjoy the thrill of villager hunting through the magic of TT to keep my date on the open plot date and trading TBTs for NMTs.
