I posted a few times on here claiming that I would not time travel for at least a month when playing NH, but since getting the game I already time traveled a few times! I just couldn't wait for the town hall to open and a few villagers to move in so I TT'd. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

It's been difficult for me, I will admit, but I also know I'm strong-willed enough not to give in. I've been having so much fun waking up each morning and rushing off to play this game, to enjoy what the island is bringing me day-by-day.

Nope. I'm patiently waiting it out, and catching all the fish, paying off all my house upgrades, and earning as many Nook miles as possible.

Been listening to the same tutorial song for probably over 40 hours, but it will be so much worth it when I finally hear the hourly music.

No point in time traveling when I'm already getting town hall tomorrow.

You can do it! I prevented myself from TT yesterday when I set up some new projects to be built and one building to be moved, and was super excited about my new layout. I was very tempted to TT but I am glad I didn't because I was so excited to go on this morning! Going to try to remember this next time I am tempted to TT

No, but I did do a situational time travel when I restarted my island. I wanted the bedhead hair, so before I started doing anything related to progression, I got the bedhead hair on "day 0/1", before I paid off the 5,000 Miles, etc. I then time travelled day-by-day to 'catch up' to the current date.

I have not time travelled since, nor do I plan to.

Nope. There's certain things that it would be nice if it advanced a little faster, but I still have tons to do. I've been really focused on trying to collect all of the fish and bugs that are available in March for northern hemisphere.

I've never TTed in Animal Crossing other than to catch up from days I missed though, so I don't think I'd start now.

I actually really liked the tutorial song and missed it yesterday when my town hall was finally built. Enjoy it while you can! haha

True, but I'm assuming others never made it as far as us and gave in a few days ago.

I dunno, I've heard it so much I'm at a breaking point.

i wasn't going to and still haven't. i need something to do everyday and if waiting for everymorning to do see whats new is what it takes, so be it. plus, if nintendo really does plan to release the game in dlc segments, if i play everyday i should be just about caught up to where i need to be, instead of rushing and then being stuck with nothing

No, I've never TT'd in AC and I don't see anything changing that.
I don't like rushing the game. It's nice to have something to look forward to each new morning, especially in times like these!

Said I wouldn't but ended up giving in and TTing :p personally I enjoy this playstyle more given the current... stuck at home situation.

i said i wouldn't time travel, and i've yet to time travel. i've found that even if i wanted to time travel (which i kinda do), i wouldn't be able to. it's been a few days since creating my island on the 20th and i'm still playing for hours a day trying to collect materials and bells to upgrade my house and craft furniture. and even though i may really want someone to move in or something to finish building, i find that not time traveling makes me anticipate the next day more which hasn't happened since christmas eve lol. i wish i could time travel though bc u go on twitter, tumblr, or reddit and see all these cool islands already and its like i want to catch up, but i'm really enjoying just vibin' and catching bugs.

Not TTing makes every day feel like Christmas!
Despite having lots of work to finish up this term with, I'm excited waking up every day to see what new thing is happening :)

I always look forward to Nook's broadcasts when I wake up at 5am in the morning. Tomorrow, I have that, and the Town Hall to look forward to. I'll get to wake up to the 5am music track.

I said I wouldn't, I haven't, and I won't. This is a slow developing game that I will play to its intent.

Yeah I TT and I will say, judging by the lack of content after the permits, I might restart my town and play legit. This is only because I (perhaps naively) believe far more content is on the horizon, and if I have to wait, I may as well play normally and get the organic experience, as impatient and forgetful as I may be. I just remember trying to do this in New Leaf, getting waaaay behind most daily players, and then feeling like crap because my town paled in comparison. There's my $0.02

Yeah, I totally understand!

I also found that even without TT'ing I actually had a lot to do each day in the game, and if I skipped to the next day, I would be putting in double the play time which meant that I would play well into the night/early morning which isn't ideal for my sleep schedule. So for me its actually more logical not to TT since I am not running out of things to do, and would double my workload if I did TT.

yep! if I did time travel, I'd get everything done and unlocked too quickly, then be sitting around bored waiting for nintendo to release updates. by playing at the natural pace, my playthrough might be more in sync with the updates...hopefully? ^-^

This is a good point! Like I said, I only TT'd a few times, and I am trying to resist doing it again because I do enjoy playing daily, even if I am super excited for something to be completed!
