I refuse to. I remember with New Leaf, I told myself I wouldn't TT, but I did anyway. After all that it sent me into depression, but I don't have that anymore.

Now I won't TT and it feels great not being able to.

I held out for the first few days, but I gave in because I think it's ridiculous how much of the game is locked behind a time gate.

So many games force you to beat the clock, get this task done now, beat your old record. I really like that you can take this at a nice, slow pace and enjoy things unfolding. Yes, it can get a little annoying if you're waiting for something to finish building, but I like the anticipation of what it's going to look like. Take the museum. I had stuff piled up all around the build site, but it was worth it when it opened to go through all the rooms and see how they've expanded it from previous versions. And you only get that feeling once, so it's worth taking it in stride.

No, I never TT. I adore the early days of a new Animal Crossing game, slowly waiting for everything to unlock. TT would ruin all that for me.

i have not. i’ve been so tempted to but i’m trying to stay strong lmao

I haven't. Honestly the slow progression is kinda fine but the repeating music is what's annoying me. The Town Hall is being built in 2 days for me so only one more day with the tutorial music lol...
I also got the ladder a day early because a friend had his Nook store before I did, so I got the ladder recipe to access the higher cliffs on my 2nd day as well as the vaulting pole.

I used to TT like crazy on CF but stopped when a friend said "I wanted to experience AC day by day so I stopped" and I followed. Ever since I've never TT'd and as tempted as I am, I still won't.

Nope. Learned my lesson in New Leaf. I time travelled a lot and got all the dreamies I wanted. After landscaping the whole town, bam. Over. Didn’t wanna play the game anymore. I wouldn’t let anybody move out so nothing changed. The game got sooo boring. I won’t let that happen again in New Horizons.

I haven't and I won't. I did it in NL, but aside of this, I never did it. I want the real feeling I had when I played the game on the Game Cube.

I have a couple of days. I only have one or two dreamies this time, so villagers will stay fresh as they move in and out and I try to meet new ones, and I don't think it's a big deal if you genuinely exhaust your list of things to do.

I still need a golden trout, though, so I'm not going too far.

I allowed myself to timetravel on day 1 because I got the game a day late only because the delivery driver forgot to load it. I tried to keep it fair and only give myself one day of playing for day 1 and 2 on my island. I never got an animal Crossing game on release (usually 6-12 months later), so I wanted to give myself this experience and it was just basically skipping the first day after an hour anyway.

Long story short, not experiencing my town day-by-day and not growing fond of it ruined my New Leaf experience. I gave myself one exception because my game was expected to come release date, but I will not time travel in the future. I know some days will be boring and the beginning is a grind, but the point of Animal Crossing is to just exist anyway. I love my island and I'm fine with only playing for an hour some days.

Yep, I did to get the Resident services building completed and that's all I'll be doing. I work 50+ hours over the next 9 days in a row and I really wanted to see it finished before I went back to work tomorrow since I know I won't have much time to play after or before work.

Yeah I TT and I will say, judging by the lack of content after the permits, I might restart my town and play legit. This is only because I (perhaps naively) believe far more content is on the horizon, and if I have to wait, I may as well play normally and get the organic experience, as impatient and forgetful as I may be. I just remember trying to do this in New Leaf, getting waaaay behind most daily players, and then feeling like crap because my town paled in comparison. There's my $0.02

i love ur user title lol. i don't think it's naive to expect more content! we were promised at least holiday updates after all. perhaps unlocking things is more spaced out than previous games, which is why u didn't see many new things. playing without time travel is pretty chill; u can probably get more done in a day. it also kind of makes me feel proud of my island because of all the changes that have happened over time already. u don't need to worry about falling behind as well; at least ur making an island 5 days into the game instead of a year after its release or something. good luck with ur island, and if u need some fruit or something i have some!!

i feel the same way about time traveling in new leaf!! i would always make new town after new town and never actually progressed much because of time traveling! i would time travel to get rid of my tent, then to get the next nook upgrade, then to move in a villager. i never got attached to my save or villagers so i felt the need to try again to see if it'll stick. i also had the issue (in new leaf) of not starting the game on release day; i got the game many years or so after its north america release. it sucked knowing everything because then i know what i'm missing out on. now that i achieved a wish of playing on release, i'm not tempted at all to restart, tho i still wish things would hurry up and finish building lol

i feel like crafting kind of makes the need to not time travel as strong as it is. like in new leaf u could only grind bugs and fish throughout the day, but now we can grind materials and such. the island also keep it fresh. tho some people may not the grindy aspect of this game, i have to say im a huge fan (luv mmos, bros)

I was way too eager to experience what the game had to offer. I also only have a week off of work to play nothing but the game, so I felt I had to make the most of it. so I did give in.

I time traveled only once and that was to have a player profile of starting March 20. I got my game the day after it came out.

I don't recall if I've ever time traveled in any of the games and don't plan to do further traveling for New Horizons.

I’m a little bit frustrated by the slow pace, but I’m toughing it out in hopes that things will improve soon. :)

It has been slow but very rewarding. TT cheaters are wack

I haven't time-traveled at all. I'd like to play at the game's pace for as long as possible without giving in. It's been a fun time so far!
