When I was in 1st grade I played soccer for like a month but my mom took me out because the team I played for was so disorganized, then I played ice hockey as a 2nd grader, I remember being quite good but that could totally just be my memory tricking me. In 3rd grade I played baseball and I was flat out garbage because I didn't like my coach, I was scared of the ball hitting me (especially since that happened to my brother, I still think it was done on purpose because as I would say as a 3rd grader, he was a "serious buttmunch") and I got distracted easily when in the field, and lastly in 5th grade I played basketball at a nearby boys and girls club. I was apparently the best at defense and free throws back then which is nice, I remember my team winning every game except the final championship one
In fact, I was so bad at sports growing up, I had to take PE with the Special Ed kids in Middle School. I was so abysmally bad at every single sport during my first semester of PE in 6th grade that the coach decided that it was best for me to join their class for me to even have a chance at passing PE. I did fairly poorly in the Special Ed PE, too... Besides PE, I was in the honors classes, so it was particularly embarrassing.
Got through PE in High School by running laps around the Football field every day instead of doing other sports in the first year because I was holding the other students back too much. My stamina and running speed were terrible. During the second year, I just worked in the PE Office to get the PE credits.
I am not in particularly bad shape or anything. I am just incompetent when it comes to sports.
I never played sports. And the times I wanted to join a team (soccer in elementary, and volleyball in high school), my dad said no because he didn't want to pay for the uniforms. Sooo that's the way to kill a kid's love for any kinda sport lol.
Aside from the ones school forced me to play occasionally, no. I was never interested in sports. On top of that I hated PE classes because they made me so tired...
I have tried out a lot of different sports, especially during high school.
As a child I used to do gymastics and jazz dance. Later on competitive swimming and martial arts (karate and judo). I did ballroom dance for a couple of years as well, one of my big passions. I also dabbled in weight training for a while and quite enjoyed it. Right now I'm ballroom dancing again, swimming for leisure and would love to try different martial arts again (but can't because of corona).
I used to be a lot more involved when I was younger (ages 7-16.) I'd go to all my brother's basketball, football, and soccer games and also played soccer myself. My favorites were badminton (played doubles) and swimming. I never swam competitively, but I went through all the ranks and would swim at every opportunity I had.
There's a gym with a pool nearby where I work currently that I've been considering joining but the bi-weekly fee is a biiiittt too high for comfort.
Only sport in grade school I ever played was football. Although I wasn't exactly a star player in the games, I met some cool people on the team and it's one thing I'm glad I did and stuck by
I used to play a fair amount of basketball years ago, but I stopped playing "seriously" after I tore my ACL. Now I mostly just shoot around when I need to clear my mind.
No. When I was 4 I wanted to be in martial arts but was told no. In school I wanted to be on a volleyball team but at the time it wasn't an option at my school. By the time they got one, after Obama's Funding, I wasn't there anymore and was moved to a school that didn't have anything at all.
When I was little until about 8 I did Jazz dancing. It wasn’t really for me though. Then from when I was 9 until near the end of high school I was into karate. Also one year shortly before high school I took part in a for fun (non competitive) summer program where we played Volleyball in teams of varying ages.
Nowadays I don’t really do any sports as work and whatnot keeps me busy. I do get out for walks though and my S/O is helping me learn how to ride a bike (never got the chance as a kid).
I've never played on a sports team. in grade school my parents were always more enthusiastic about me pursuing music and continuing to play piano so they said I shouldn't play sports because if I injure myself I may not be able to play piano (fair enough). and I didn't play any sports in college bc I was wayyyyy too busy with schoolwork to have any energy for sports.
I do like playing sports though, mostly baseball and tennis/badminton. I would like to find someone to play sports with recreationally, not a big fan of competing with others (unless ofc it's friendly competition).
I am just going to say this. I do not care for sports. Never had throughout my life, but when I was forced to play sports at school I remember it being so painful. I had to play this game which was this weird game where you had to play football and the twist is that you were wearing these flag things on you. If you get the ball and if you get your whole flag thing pulled off of you you're out of the game. I remembered I got tackled really hard and it almost broke my back.
I have no issue with people who enjoy sports, but whenever I see it on TV or mentioned on Radio I just don't want to hear any talk about it because I don't care.
Baseball and I did it for a few years. Never really card for it though and eventually got out of it. But I do sports all the time for fun with friends. I just don't care to make some gung-ho competition out of it.
When I was little I used to play a lot of Badminton. Still my favorite sport to this day, but I was always way too shy to go into a club to actually play it with others. So I only ever played it with my family (or when we played it in school). I also did Karate when I was very young, for about 2 years. Then I tried out Volleyball, but man that hurts on the wrists >->
After that I did swimming in a club for a bit, as my best friend at that time was doing this and it was quite fun. Also tried out football for a bit (or is that soccer? Well, in german it's "Fußball"), but meh.. too much moving for me. :v
I really wanted to play Basketball in a club, but I'm way too small for it.. lastly, a at this time friend of mine was doing archery, so I tried that out. So much fun, but sadly really expensive so I couldn't do it for very long. Really want to get a bow though and do some archery in my garden.
I played soccer at school for like, 5 months. otherwise I have played tennis at a club (lessons) for as long as I remember, and only took a break for a semester because of health issues. Im getting back into it in the new year! very exciting
edit: oh yeah and I did swimming for a long time as well, but many kids in Australia do because if you don't know how to swim and live near the ocean or creeks or whatever it is really sad. like I've never met anyone who can't swim here-
I didn't ever "officially" play for any teams and such, but I did regularly play various different sports while at school and at home. Some of those included soccer, basketball, tennis and baseball (the last one I didn't ever enjoy much. Pretty damn boring). Soccer was probably the sport that I liked most and the one that I was the best at. At least, I think I must've been, since a close school friend of mine who was actually in a soccer team once commented that I was very good and even asked me if I played for any teams. Adding to that, there was also an older kid in that school who for some reason just didn't like me (even though I didn't ever do anything to him). Well, one day he just happened to see me play soccer and then all of a sudden decided that he wanted to be my "friend".
I eventually stopped playing sports once I reached adulthood though (now I just regularly exercise).
I was a good swimmer and decent at bowling when I was a kid, but I had no interest in being in a team. The culture surrounding it didn’t sound appealing to me. Ball sports weren’t an option, even if I wanted to do one. My double vision, to this day, makes incoming objects split into two when they’re within about 2 feet. Any ball that would’ve flown to me would have been impossible to catch. Despite that I’ve always had a soft spot for baseball. I know most of the rules even though I never played.
