Discussion: What features would you like to see in Animal Crossing Switch?

Well, I suppose the title says it all, and considering I've had a bunch of ideas for AC:Switch since I saw the Switch's Announcement trailer, I wanted to see what other people thought that the capabilities of the Switch could hold for Animal Crossing! Even if you have no ideas, what features would you like to see return from one of the older games in the franchise?

Personally I liked Let's Go To The City a lot, so a lot of the features from that game, such as the constellation system and the UFO event with Gulliver, I would adore to see in the new instalment in the franchise. However if I was to ask for a new feature for the new game, I'd probably have to say cross platform releases and some connectivity with the new mobile app, sort of like the island from the original Animal Crossing, except a little more refined.

Anyway, those were my ideas, and now I want to know yours!

I totally could back the idea of a better island system! New Leaf's was decent, but I'd like it to be more social, in the sense that if you do make a friend there, you could easily add them on the spot. Also the idea of a mobile app is cool, kinda really wanting more social elements in general!

Yep! A mobile app has already been confirmed by Nintendo, and considering we can play at home, and on the go, Nintendo will have to balance everything extremely well, voice chat is probably going to be a new feature as well, and I think using mobile data to play online while not at home is definitely a step forward for Nintendo.

I absolutely second hopes for a toolbox, pretty much half of my inventory is just tools...

A tool box and ability to bouquet flowers would be awesome! I'd like more/easier to obtain PWPs, more slots for patterns (maybe like a big book of them you can carry around?), and the ability to communicate with others vocally like in City Folk would be nice. But only if you can turn the feature off when you don't want to use it, of course.

Actually black flowers (I actually think the current color is quite cute but it's just not what I was looking for), and an ability to somehow lock a pattern to a character. i.e. chara 1 makes the paths, lays the paths, and nobody else can touch it.

The ability to pick a base skin color. More solid, consistent themes for pwps for sure (i.e. the countryside zen showa-eraish stuff. was so tempted to build a town around it)

This is a little bit of a far-fetched one, but a cross-friends commons area. A tiny bit like the island, but think of it as a main street/plaza that you can easily access and build and grow with your friends, maybe with a co-op house.

Also, I miss blathers' tangents. I was legitimately bummed out when he stopped sharing them.

Bottle messages again, and the ability to tie your own gift balloons and send them through streetpass.

Yep! I could back all of that! An auction house in your plaza area would probably be a nice inclusion. It's a shame that Nintendo got rid of the old beach from WW/CF, I just like that design better than the one in New Leaf. And Blathers' tangents, those helped me be a brat in Primary school. :3 I think a few new and old features added onto New Leaf and City Folk would probably deliver so much fan service that I'd cry when it was releases.

Skin color choices
Hedgehog villagers (I breed hedgehogs ), maybe villagers of all NPC species
Instead of a campsite a hotel would be cool with 3-5 villagers rotating weekly, along with minigames such as delivering luggage to the right rooms. Especially if NPCs stayed here, like Gracie and Katrina, and it was how you interacted with them.
Stacking flowers
Villager families with bigger houses, all those kangaroos with their babies in the pouch...
Bird watching/photography, similar to catching bugs and fishing, where you take photos of birds in your town (on the ground, in trees, flying) and submit the photos to the museum or put in your house.
Aerobics with Isabelle!
Part of me has always wanted a dating feature like Harvest Moon, so me and Marshal can make it official (Though, he did send me both a love letter recently, and another one about a dream involving us looking at a rainbow, so maybe my gay propaganda is working)

Sending letters to friends online
No more villagers in the shops who don't live in your town. Jay has been here for a year. I hate him so much.
Maybe 1 custom villager per town that you get to design. Perhaps as a mayoral assistant or something? You pick the species, fur color from a palette, default clothes/catchphrase/quote, the eyes/mouth/other features from a pre-made list and then design their house like in HHD.

I'd like to be able to select where the major landmarks (Mayor office, etc) are placed, and where my villagers are placed.

More animal villager species variety.

Skin tone choices in character creation.

The ability to play as an animal would also be really cool.

I'd like a vacation mode where you can go to a nice resort or something with a feature to invite a villager to come with you.

And more character customization options. Especially with hairstyles. I'd love to see longer hair in the game.

Oh, and maybe a cooking feature or at least make food items actually edible and maybe the next Nook/Nookling stores could sell food, candies, and drinks.

Another thought - Maybe have an expanded papttern box. Like an area just for clothing patterns, one for paths, one for misc.

And also maybe have it so that when you shake a fruit tree and a fruit must land on a path, maybe not have the path disappear the fruit.
