DLC?

I think that basic new content should be free expansions like with NL, new features shouldn't be paid for unless Nintendo has a partnership that requires the content to be lucrative.

What I would like to see as paid DLC, would be themes clothing and furniture packs through Nintendo partnerships like they did with Sanrio company. I would like to see other partnerships like with Disney and other cute cartoony companies.

I said paid for these things because in order for a partnership to be made its likely Nintendo has to share profits with these companies in order for both parties to profit. I wouldn't mind paying 10$ - 15$ for access to all the Sanrio content, or the same for access to other companies.

I don't even know how Nintendo would go about paid DLC for a mainline Animal Crossing game. Pocket Camp is bad enough with the micro transactions, but a mainline game feels like betrayal lmao

If its a DLC package with features that change the gameplay entirely (Like a boat that takes you to new islands or the ability to play as an animal idk) THEN I could understand paid DLC for those kinds of things. But if special furniture sets begin to be paid DLC, I think the fandom would go up in flames. If a free game like pocket camp gets crap for micro transactions, imagine how we'd react if the mainline game included paid DLC for furniture skskdkksjkahd

It's not serious at all as it was just a brief spur, but what if there was an application where you could take pictures of your pets where once paid for they can become a villager? People would go crazy for something like that, or so at least I know I would. Again, not serious at all.

I feel ike if you took a picture of your pet and then converted it into a villager, it would probably end up looking like a monstrosity. The best bet for getting animal that lookalike your pet would be to get the villagers that are like your pet. So if you have a golden retriever, get a pet that looks like a golden retriever on your island. In order to get more variety, you Ould just need to be hopeful that Nintendo comes up with new ideas, or submit ideas yourself to the devs on social media.

Special furniture themes that require Nintendo partnering with another company would absolutely need to be paid DLC. Nintendo has to pay for those partnerships whether it be through shared profits or paying a lump sum during negotiations. They wont do it if they cant profit off of it.

Thats why I think basic themes like halloween, Christmas, etc should be free and themed items that are special through partnerships should be paid. I would pay 10$ - 15$ for a Sanrio Pack that comes with all the different furniture sets and clothing items in one bundle. That more fair compared to paying 5$ individually for each set of Sanrio items and their being like 10 sets of Sanrio themed items. Thats 10$ - 15$ in one payment vs 50$ for the whole collection.

I also think that added content like new features should be free considering new features have always been free on past Animal Crossing games.

In my opinion, one of the great things about ACNL is there was really no way to cheat, by buying bells or items (not including hacking or time traveling). I think it makes the Animal Crossing Games have the feel and calmness that they do, with not interfering with real world money. I think Nintendo will get a lot of backlash, if they add stuff to buy with real money in NH.

I hope so because micro transaction will ruin the game for me (not everyone have a lot of money to spend on one game).

It is possible there will be a dlc but I have to hope not. I just like having one, compact game with everything included instead of using up storage with dlc?s that I may not even be able to get because of price. Animal crossing has always been an inclusive, simple yet complex game and it would sadden me to see a dlc. I recon a dlc would include new crafting materials and new actions (such as moving furniture more like it was done in hhd- this may be done in the main game but it?s just an example of what I mean by new actions) if the game did have one, I doubt it would be for new/different island settings given that the selling point for animal crossing has always been that it goes through the seasons and real time with you. Who knows though? It will be interesting to see. You do have a good point when you mention that dlc?s have been included for most other switch games... which is why I say that it is possible.

If they can get away with it in the app, its most likely they could get away with it on the console game. It wouldnt be microtransactions though. That would require making an in-game shop where you have to pay for each individual item. I'm proposing they make a DLC pack that features several collections in a bundle for a fixed price. The reality is people would scream bloody murder about it before the game releases and then once it is released, they would most likely buy it. Just look at how many people are willing to buy the apps loot box fortune cookies.

I can't see Animal Crossing having DLC to be honest... But then, I could be wrong. They haven't done it in any previous games but we do know Nintendo are becoming more experimental with DLC features. If they do add any features I would say it's going to be more like free content. Maybe adding in new characters, or new furniture would be cool? (Or... Maybe even bringing back those amiibo cards? Lmao... I have a whole card folder full of them and they're just sitting there collecting dust)

I don't want anything that isn't free. That would be the end of AC as we know it.
PC is an atrocity, please don't bring greed into the main series as well; nintendo. :-/
