Do/did your parents approve of the music you listen to?

Mine don't (which from my icon you can guess what I listen to), so I was just wondering if other people here had their parents approve of it, either now or when they were under their roof.

My parents were never disapproving of the kind of music I liked. I guess it was because they didn't see music as that big of a thing. My father encourages me to listen to a lot of older music, but he tries his best to keep up-to-date with the newer artists. My mother doesn't really care, which is totally fine. I just listen to what I listen to.

I have Lady Gaga posters all over my room, though. So, if it's not apparent to either of them that I'm gay yet, I'm gonna have to add porn to the wall.

My parents never really disapproved of anything I liked/enjoyed, as long as it was healthy and wasn't harming anyone else. Everyone's going to have different tastes, and I don't believe parents should be upset at their child because they like something as mundane as music. Especially since music is a very positive outlet for most people.

My parents are just very supportive, and really always have been. I count myself really lucky and blessed.

Yeah, my dad doesn't understand why I don't like country music like he and my mom do. My dad always gives me weird looks whenever I'm singing part of a Nirvana song such as Pennyroyal Tea to myself.

My parents have never disapproved of the music I listen to. I actually got my mom to become a big fan of it herself and my dad will listen along and sometimes even hum/sing if I play it around him so yeah they're pretty supportive I would say.

I've never really listened to the type of music that would rub them the wrong way though so even in the past they haven't really had much of a reason to disapprove any of it.

My father and I have similar taste in rock and 80's disco.
They're more likely to fall asleep to the other music I listen to.
I don't really listen to anything controversial so there's nothing to disapprove of.

Yeah, I don't let my parents listen to the music I listen to either, but sometimes a song is just so catchy I start singing some of it, and my dad just gives me such weird looks...

My father and I have pretty much the same taste in music, so he's totally okay with it. My mother doesn't mind either way

BUT like 2 years ago my mom found out I liked My Chemical Romance and she said I should stay away from it
