Do players count towards the villager cap?

Hi. I haven’t been the best at keeping up with the recent news, so I’m a little behind. I have several other people in my household who are interested in playing Animal Crossing. Do we know if human players count toward the villager cap? I really hope not, because if they do then we’re going to have to have people sharing accounts, which is no fun.

It would just seem ridiculous to have 8 players and 2 villagers.

No, the number of players doesn't change the villager cap, you can have 8 players and 10 animal villagers

I was wondering this too because I would hate to see like there being 8 players and then 2 villagers, thanks to other replies here though I see this isn't the case!

Highly doubt it. They've never done that in the series before so idk why they would start now.

No. Otherwise you'd get stuck vice versa when you can't make new players do to too many videos �� (Y)

Could you imagine having a town with 8 players and only 2 villagers lol

no. villagers and characters are two separate things - your island can hold 8 human characters and 10 animal villagers. the amount of one will not affect the other :]
