Do turnips spoil when you visit others on Wi-Fi?

Can someone please take 1 turnip to another town and see if it spoils in the process? I want to know because I have a great idea for a thread and I need to know if they spoil, or else my idea won't work. Can someone please do this for me?

If I were to guess I would say it doesn't spoil because people sell turnips in other towns... I think.
