I have played both a lot. I think I have played New Leaf more though as I have played it more consistently over the years, and I do still sometimes load up my file even though I essentially consider my town finished now. On the other hand, I played ACNH a bunch in 2020 and then stopped after however many months before resuming this year with a fresh island. I have been playing it a ton since making a new start. Sometimes a reset is just what a person needs to be inspired again, although I would never restart my New Leaf town since I think it is perfect and I love the layout and my villagers.

Both games have good aspects. I hope to see a new title come out sometime in the next few years that takes some of the best elements of both games and combines it with some fresh features. I'd like the return of mini games and main street in particular while keeping the extensive outdoor decorating in New Horizons. That's just what I hope to see. I'm not sure what new story or direction they will go, but it will be exciting to find out.

Much less, personally. Obviously some of that is due to me being grown up, but still. I would play New Leaf very often for the sake of playing it, if that makes sense? Then stumble across what I want to do. I rarely head onto NH unless there is a TBT event, or I have something specific in mind to accomplish to sort of keep me busy / occupied.

Much more. I believe that I only have 200 hrs logged in my 3ds for NL. Whereas, NH has 1,500 hrs. Plus, I’m still not done building my island. I’m not playing the game daily or weekly anymore, but at least I’m still using it.

Surprisingly I’ve found myself playing ACNH more. I’ve even managed to get into a daily routine of playing as the game was intended, instead of timetraveling like I always did in other games. I think it’s because the gameplay loop is much simpler, especially since my newest island is a no terraforming no trading no time travel challenge I’ve set myself. I just relax in game, catching fish and bugs to sell or donate, chat with villagers, searching for balloons and fossils. All to try and collect money, items and recipes to slowly decorate the island and befriend my villagers.

Less. I really like the customization and building options that NH introduced, but I feel like it focuses too much on those aspects. NL felt more enjoyable and more suited for my play style because I think it had more to do.

I'd say I play it about as much as I played New Leaf. For Wild World, I did play it a lot, but I think I've spent more time on New Leaf and New Horizons. I honestly didn't play City Folk that much, so I've definitely played New Horizons more. It's harder to compare it to the GameCube game. I was always competing with my brother and parents to use the TV back then, so I couldn't play as much as I wanted. Still, I'll say the GameCube game was about the same
